Opinions on this build/lobby?

I got really bored and decided to practice making assets/terrain in Blender, as well as practice my building and creativity (This lobby is not being made for any game yet, although might be added in the near future when improvements are implemented.)

This is my first time using and creating Low Poly assets/terrain in Blender to use in my build after multiple people have suggested me to use Blender.

If you have any opinions that could improve this build, please let me improve. May it be my creation of my assets, or the environment in the build.

(I’ve noticed myself that there is around 2 rocks on one side on one piece of terrain of the map compared to the rest, so I went ahead and filled the rest of the other terrain with rocks.)

Thanks!

Your work is fantastic! All that I have to say is that the bridge is too curved.
9.75 / 10 !

Thanks!

I’ll adjust the bridge’s curved so It won’t be too curved.

It’s really very beautiful, and well done, but I think some parts are strange and “exaggerated”, it’s not something that will make your terrain look bad, but it can be improved.

Does not look like much “mountains”

And some colors do not quite match the rest of the map.

Your map is very good, and for your first terrain using blender you did a great job!
Just use your imagination and always try to improve your map even if it looks perfect.
I hope it has helped you.

I really like this however a few things I would change/add are:

  1. Most lobbies have something to do as they are where the player spends the most time. While your lobby is nice to look at, it is easy to get bored after a while. I suggest you add maybe a mini obby, maybe some stalls or even an underground cave! It is up to you, however, ensure it will engage the player a lot.
  2. Try making some bushes and shrubbery, as the ground looks really plain and empty (be sure not to go overboard and clutter it up as I usually do
  3. Lastly, The blimp things around the perimeter of look a little weird. Try experimenting with different things that fit with the theme.

Very good map apart from the tunnel which should not be an embossed navy blue brick. The bridge is also incongruent to the genre of the place.

Thanks, I’ll practice and improve trying to create a more realistically shaped mountain!

I’ll add minigames into the area, so the player won’t lose interest in playing the game while the round is currently playing. Also, bushes would better suit the ground and would spice up the terrain, and I’ll experiment with the blimp/mountain

Thanks for these suggestions!

You should probably give the bridge a color, for example, brown would fir it nice.

I like it low poly style, my opinion is you can also make low poly tree leaves on the branches to fit in with the hole map. But all in all very good.

Fantastic! Honestly there is not much to improve at all! Everything is made really well but I will try and help out and list a few suggestions.

Suggestions

  • Add less curve to the bridge
The bridge curve does look visually appealing, however practically, it looks a bit off.
  • Add more detail to the bridge
The bridge to me kind of looks less detailed compared to the rest of the build. Maybe add a bit more to it.
  • Add items to the river to make it look more natural
Maybe things like pebbles, sea plants floating around, smaller rocks below the big rocks on the edge of the river
  • Add flowers
I noticed the trees and it gives a lovely touch of nature, but maybe it’d improve the scene by also adding flowers? Maybe this would add onto it.
  • Add a more fitting sky
I don’t think this directly has to do with your build, but it may just make the whole scene look a bit nicer.
  • Add a fade to the opening of the black in the tunnel
Perhaps add like a fade to the black going out so it not just black but it actually looks like there is more going in.
  • Add items around the brick entrance
I noticed around the area where the little entrance is (covered by brick) is a bit bland., Maybe add some rocks, flowers and stuff to enhance the area.
  • Try something else with the “shop” and “play” signs
This is the only real thing that kind of bothers me. Not sure why, but compared to the rest of the scene these circular signs just seems unfitting. Maybe try another approach or add more to it? Or possibly trying using a stand up wooden sign or a different font for the text.

Again, I just want to say Incredible Build!
Hope my suggestions help out!
Keep up the awesome work!

I love that you’re able to point out details that may prove beneficial to this build. These suggestions really get me motivated, not just from you but everyone else. Thanks to everyone who’ve pointed out things that need improvement!

Lobby looks awesome!

But there does seem to be a bit of open space. I suggest adding things like small bushes, benches, etc.

The outer-terrain looks super cool! Never seen that done before! Super innovative!

Thanks! I appreciate your compliments :slightly_smiling_face:

I personally think it looks great! The apples on the trees are not needed, though.

Everything is pretty good, but I would change the transparency to the tunnel a bit, look a bit edgy! I give it a 9/10 Keep it up!

I don’t understand your point. What is wrong with the apples on the trees?

They are a great stylistic feature and should not at all be removed.

Vis-a-vis trees, the trees in image four are incongruent to the rest of the trees of the map. @TypeByte

I just think they are not needed, I like a more simplistic building style personally, but that’s just my preference, y’all can do whatever y’all want.
