Optimization via reduction of instances in explorer

so im currently working on a pretty massive project, and ive encountered a few minor performance hurdles that could snowball later on.

i want to make it clear: this is a question on optimizing IN STUDIO. as of right now, i have over 140,000 parts in my game, and everytime i open explorer on launch it lags like hell and i have to wait until everything finishes loading in explorer to be able to work on things (i get like 10 fps and its impossible to drag). i am not concerned about in-game optimization, everything seems fine.

so im just wondering if it would help if i could union parts or put models into folders to reduce the amount of instances initially loaded upon opening only the explorer. if this doesnt work, is there anything else i could try? i have already lowered studio graphics and that seemed to help a little, but im worried that soon enough it will be impossible to work on this project.
