Option for Audit Log to include finer-grained user activity (joining/leaving)

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to track when members leave or join a group, when people are posting things on the group wall etc.

Small actions that are not included currently in the audit log might be important to some. For an example, I would like to know how many people join/leave my group and when, and a feature to find that isn’t a thing yet, I’ll give you a situation I’m in which is why I need that. I’m in a war with another group and in our war terms we’ve agreed to not let anyone who joins the group from the 27th of febuary and so on to participate in the war.

So what I offer is, have an option that when you tick it, extra miscellaneous information will be added to the audit log, showing you when people leave or join your group and basically the small extra information some people would like to know.

I like this idea and it also can be useful for other things.
Although I don’t think that showing the usernames of the people when they leave a group is a good idea, because that would violate the privacy of them. People leave a group for a reason and if the username of him/her is shown in the audit the group owner is able to contact the person.

Well for private groups when you accept people it logs who you accept regardless to if the user who joined leaves :man_shrugging:

If the username is shown at the join event in the audit logs it would be completely fine (on my opinion) and I don’t mean that their username should be removed on the join event when they leave.

It is fine to put leave events in the audit logs, but without the username of the person who left so it would look something like this:

Well I don’t see how would that be a privacy issue, when a player joins it will log the player’s name in the audit log, that’s already (indirectly) showing you the information that you’re trying to prevent being exposed to the group owner when a player leaves. If the owner wanted to he could find out who left by checking who joined and if they’re in the group. In my opinion your idea makes things a bit more hard for the group owner. In some cases you would want to find out who the person who left was, if the person who left doesn’t want anything to do with the group anymore and the group owner is bugging him about it there is always an option to block

Blocking is an option for the user that left. However, I think that it is the best for the experience of the people on Roblox to prevent the cases where group owners would bother the people who left their group.

Besides begging group owners are also able to bully and insult the left people if they have bad intentions, so that is why I think that the audit log shouldn’t show the usernames of left people.

Group owners are able to check the joined people in the audit logs and see that you left on that way, but then the person should block the group owner. It isn’t possible to prevent everything, but I think it is the best to prevent further issues if that is easy (like not showing usernames of left people in the audit logs).

If the group owners are going to bully/bug anyone that’d be someone they know personally, like I’ve said before they are able to check if the user is in the group or not via their profile and they will if the person who leaves the group is connected to them somehow so removing information that can be useful in some cases in an attempt to prevent things that will happen no matter if this information is present or not, Idk man.
