Part reflectance changes when parented to Character

Hello all,

Seems like I’ve run into the same issue as stated in this older thread.

(Reflectance breaking when parented to player?)

When you have a part with a reflectance set to some high value (to give it a neon glow effect) the reflectance is set back to a max value of about 10 when it is parented to a players character and thus removing the effect
Any ideas as to why this is and any ideas to bypass this issue? Thanks for any insights!

.

use an ancestrychanged connection and just manually reset it

So here is the thing, changing the properties after the fact has no effect at all. I believe I’ve discovered the issue to be due to Humanoid object. I inserted an NPC and tested which caused the same issue. I removed the Humanoid object and the parts reflectance did indeed stay the same.

is it named like torso or something?

Thank you for the help. I ended up just keeping the part parented to the workspace and welding to the character.
