Reflectance breaking when parented to player?

Hello Developers!

This is honestly a weird issue and don’t entirely know if this should be posted under the building support section but I’d figure that builders would probably know the most about this issue. My issue is that when my sword is parented to the player / character it loses its reflective qualities, where as when parented to the workspace it works fine? Any reason why this happens and how I can fix it?

The reflectance of the sword is at 10 by the way.

I’ve always found that reflectance doesn’t work on players, but I don’t actually know why. The only fix I can think of is if you had a script to clone the parts with reflectance from ServerStorage and weld it to the tool’s handle when it’s equipped, then destroy it when unequipped.
