Like most people, I love my dad. My dad – Paul – has really bent his back backwards for me many times throughout my life and has sacrificed a lot to make me happy while growing up. I might be biased, but I say my dad is the epitome of a trying father; a father that never gives up on his kids, and is always there for them. Nobody seriously means as much to me in life as much as my dad does.
To celebrate my father and honour the wonderful nature that is his character, I created a showcase that serves to embody everything that is my dad. Players can learn what my dad is all about from investigating the map.
In this showcase, you play as a child that works as a courier in the rural coast of Washington State and have been tasked with the delivery of a package to Paul. The player must navigate through the forest and reach the lighthouse to deliver the package.
Modelling is probably the easiest aspect of game developing. Just because his models aren’t the most detailed doesn’t mean he’s bad at modelling.
A successful solo dev understands the importance of a realistic time plan and does their best to stick to it. That means sacrificing a flawless aesthetic in order to actually get the work done - which is more important when working by yourself or with a small team.
Same lol. I started Roblox in 2009 with my “0isindelea” account. I always preferred this style tbh. It annoys me the way everyone’s always like “use Roblox terrain”, and then at the same time they’re like “R15 rigs, ew!”. The Roblox terrain clashes with parts imo. It can be difficult to get it to blend in properly, and most of the time it doesn’t.
A really clean and nicely designed game, the atmosphere is so relaxing, the sound design and attention to detail are also impressive, little things like the animals everywhere, different photos, a beehive, birds in the sky, and things in the distance really make it a nice game to spend time in.
If you were to improve anything I’d say maybe make some things like the box delivery more obvious or clear on how to do and give some sort of reward or dialogue, and maybe also consider adding more functionality to the tools like the coffee or hotdog which don’t seem to be usable, and some of the collisions with objects like grass seem to be a bit strange.
