People leaving game really early on

That does make sense. We’ll look into that.

This game is so interesting, but the problem is golem.
He 1 hit kills you, and even spawn kills you which is annoying.

Heres the video: (Btw anchor the spikes parts, and it doesnt damage people)

What you can do is make golem do a specific damage instead of instant killing them, also make the golem a bit slow.

and how about a rage mode for golem? after a specific time it becomes darker and scary and the golem becomes silent no voice.

Another idea of putting traps, when golem steps on the trap he will get stun for a specific amount of time.

What I’m planning to do for my games that involve NPCs is dynamically adjust their stats so that they are challenging (but not too hard) for the average players’ skill level. You can do this by calculating the [level] of all players in the server and taking the average.

That’s actually pretty smart! I’ll try that.

– EDIT: Just realized that that might not work because players might be confused.

the whole map is made with this werid looking texture, if it was a stud texture or, well anything else it would look way better.

Yeah, I think the material colors could be improved. They look quite bright (especially the trees, grass, wood, stone, and dirt).

The texture is called the roblox 2022 materials . What do you think we should change it to then?

Also for @sussy_bacoo, is there anything else that could actually stop players playing game for longer? Or discourage then to do so?

well, have some variety at least, if it was studs i would understand, but this is just bad, having concrete in a cartoony game

Then, how do we fix that? What materials do we change them too?

it really depends on what style you are going with

It’s supposed to be a cartoony/action game.

i would suggest the cartoony texture by flaming, you can find it in the toolbox.

Ok, let’s see how it looks in the game.

i used a lot of texture from it, it is pretty good in my opinion

Can’t a DMCA takedown be filed if you steal assets? Can’t the creator just file one, even though it’s a free model? What if it’s stolen?

they already gave up the right to file stuff by uploading it to roblox

Ok then. Thanks for the information!

Upon further review, it turns out tha the assets would benefit a cartooney similator/tycoon game, and while our game technically has some cartoonish aspects, it would look weird with some other materials and aspects of the game. We did darken some colors though.

Personally what bugs me when I play the game (granted I’ve mostly been doing the harder maps) is that death feels a little unforgiving. Perhaps having a “ghost mode” that activates after you die that lets you explore the maze without having to worry about obstacles or the golem could be a way to retain players that might rage quit.

Another thing that was a bit annoying is that for one of the insane maps there was a one-way invisible wall that trapped me in a small segment of the maze with no clear ways to get out.

I think changing the spawn light from a neon part to perhaps a couple beams would be nice as I find it a bit annoying to have my camera flooded with blue light the instant I spawn in a stage.

It’s been stated before, but the lighting can be extremely annoying at times. The gamma is often through the roof (for example I can’t really make out the coin shapes in the toxic jungle or the shape of the crystals in the mine due to the brightness). sometimes the lighting is ridiculously uneven (for example that mines stage). If you cannot make out the shape or even outline of a model that is a clear sign the lights are way too bright. If you cannot see color, that is a clear sign the lights are way too dark. Most games don’t have ambient lighting in 80% of the map for a reason.

I would also recommend an “afk” mode that can be toggled while in the lobby that allows you to not be queued into a game while you are shopping, in a conversation in the lobby, getting up for a drink of water, or playing soccer.

While the level up system is present it is, to put it bluntly, hidden, as well as what the level up system does. I would highly suggest putting a Gui up after the player touches the yellow pad at the end of the maze that displays the currency earned as well as xp gained over the course of the round. if a level up occurs, include a space that shows what the level up did, I suggest giving free currency if no miscellaneous items are already given on level up to keep it from looking bugged if empty. I would also make sure there is an experience bar with a number representing the level somewhere on the screen when you are in the lobby.

What does lasting point mean? I have played the game for at least half an hour and I still have no clue what it means when that pops up on the screen.

I would suggest having players run around in their own gear if the only cosmetics provided by the game, is a blank rig. I would advise against it if you had some sort of full body themed gear/rig going on, but as you don’t I feel like excluding personal avatar items/t-shirts hurts your game more than helps it in its current state.

I would leave out the random generation mode for the moment as it is terribly glitched. Not all the generated mazes are beatable, and the golem sometimes spawns inside walls.

Again, it has been said before but NEVER have two surfaces of different colors intersect on the same plain. It looks lazy and is extremely distracting.

I was able to fall out of the map through a small hole in what i believe was supposed to be an underwater ruins stage.

Some sort of hint as to where to go would be nice, but that could be personal preference.

Already mentioned, but I do feel like there is an over reliance on some textures, consider using stone instead of brick for example if your stage is 80% brick.

Not really an actual gameplay issue but paying virtual currency to play plinko is simulated gambling, and some states and countries don’t like that to be in kids’ games. Just something to keep in mind is all.

Some of the Gui buttons in the lobby as well as the settings button do not appear to do anything. This to me screams “unfinished possibly abandoned game” I would make them do something or get rid of them. (I am going to assume the q button is quality, if it is put a small Gui next to it saying something like high, med, or low depending on wat its toggled to)

I do hope this game is continued to be developed in the future, there is potential here, and this is a playable game that I genuinely did have a bit of fun playing. I honestly might try to get people in here for a game night at some point. That said, for the love of God, fix the dang lighting.

If td;lr then

Many gui features are disabled temporarily while the gui is being redone. Some gui features were moved or removed in order to make the gui not look cluttered, as many have said it is.

There is an AFK mode, it’s just currently unavalible while the gui is being spruced up.

There used to be one, but it was moved to the level rewards gui to save space.

There is a shop where you can buy consmetics, but they are also hidden while the gui is being spruced up(a lot of features are currently disabled.)

AGAIN, some of it is disabled because the gui is being fixed up. Unfortunate that you played while so many of the engaging features weren’t there.

But in any sense, we’re really glad that the game was fun for you! And, yes, we’ve tried fixing the lighting many times, but it just doesn’t seem to change anything. Do you have any suggested light settings or lighting settings not to use(no bloom, set brightness to X, etc. etc,) because that could be one of the most helpful things that could induce players to play for longer and come back.
