Today I’ve been to Behind the blox, and they had this amazing Globe showing the number of players playing.
I would love to see this on the Developer page of games, showing live where people are playing from.
This as well could show the developers what country they should focus on with translations, or just to indicate which country plays their game the most.
It doesn’t have to pinpoint exact what city are playing the most.
Regions would help allot as well just to indicate what country/region players are playing currently from.
Honestly that Globe was the coolest part of Behind the Blox and it was shown right at the start too, so no time wasted getting right to the good parts. I’d love to see it in person one day lol.
I get that we wouldn’t have access to that since it’s proprietary software and used internally but as a developer, I would love to have access to detailed player stats about my game, up to where my players are hailing from, so I can understand my audiences and where I should focus on localisation efforts for.
I would love real time access to data and can’t just hope to input those numbers manually either because that data can quickly go out of date, taking into account how long it’d take to enter and vet data in the first place. I don’t think API to make my own tools would suffice either.
Roblox is seeing a larger international market and catering to all of our players appropriately is in our best interests, especially when it comes to localisation.
Would be amazing to see this as an official feature someday, but there is a workaround using LocalizationService’s GetCountryRegionForPlayerAsync method.
