So I’m making a bar and I want the bar table thing to be made of wood, but I saw that the wood material looked like it was fresh out of lumber tycoon 2, not something you’d see in wooden furniture

Honestly the wood just looks bland, the grooves are undefined, and it just looks like mushWhat happens if you put a glass Material part just slightly bigger than it over the top?
Amusingly this is basically what they did in real life too: That wood is probably varnished, which is what’s making it look like that.
If I understand what the plan is for Future is Bright, some control of this should come when they start allowing users control over materials PBR properties.
Regardless of possible future updates, you can use a custom texture and certain shiny materials to gain the effect you want.
Here are come examples with a wooden texture over foil, marble, glass, and ice.
The biggest issue with these is some of the subsurface details also come through with this method, mainly the divots in foil and scratches on ice.
