Popular Category: Only Allow FE Games

So I’ve just been thinking, the admins want us to make more FE games. ROBLOX will only twitch stream FE games, FE games run smoother, more efficiently and securely than non-FE games(unless you try to do otherwise).

Basically, in the “Popular” section, only allow Filtering Enabled games.
Advantages:
[ol]
[li]Games will be secure from server exploits.[/li]
[li]Good bye free model games![/li]
[li]Unheard of developers will finally get their chance to show off their games.[/li]
[li]Removes competition from free model ODer games[/li]
[li]Higher quality popular category[/li]
[li]Scripters learning how replication is done in the real world[/li]
Disadvantages:
[/ol]
[ol]
[li]Not many FE games currently exist. Perhaps admins could ask us to make some good ones, to start things off?[/li]
[li]Players may be unhappy to see their favorite game leave the front page, however will be happy to see the new stuff.[/li]
[li]Coding FE is trickier but worth it in the long run.[/li]

[/ol]Please give this an honest consideration. Even if you currently have a popular non-FE game (such as myself, all my popular games are non-FE) please don’t be bias!

If not replacing popular, perhaps a new category that could appear above popular?

I feel as though that would be a misrepresentation of the popular games on Roblox. The Popular category is there for games that are, as the name suggests, popular. There’s a rather large number of games that are popular, but don’t have FE toggled on. Perhaps a new category could be created fitting the criteria you’ve given, but I personally don’t like the idea you’ve proposed. If a game gets popular, it’s my opinion that it should be given credit regardless of the status of the game’s security.

I agree with this. This would help the quality of Roblox a lot! Force people to make things better if they want to be popular, eliminate everyone who spends 3 hours on a game and goes front page.

FilteringEnabled is a property, though, and can be toggled via Script. (Why can it be toggled via a Script!?)

I cant see it working.

I think that a new section should be added specifically for this.

And if all goes well, we should see more advanced, developed games come to the front page. If it goes REALLY well, we could replace it with the Popular section.

(Same applies for the other sections?)

I don’t think it should replace popular, but maybe only FE games can be on a “recommended” category.

I am only just learning how to use FE, so all of my games don’t use it yet (and some CANNOT use it). I’m making a new game that so far I have spent 2 weeks building, that can’t use FE due to its intricate character customisation part.

I use FilteringEnabled all the time, and think that everyone should use it, but forcing “popular” games to be FilteringEnabled compatible? I think that’s a dumb idea. Just add a new category called “Secure” and whatnot if you want to get games to the front page that won’t be exploited 24/7. Well, you’d have to deal with noclipping, speedhacking, etc as well.

FilteringEnabled can’t be toggled by a script in-game.

I actually support this

As long as it remains bubbly with new games that know how to use FE having an easy chance to rise to the top, and doesn’t become a stale mess of just the same exact order of games.

No support, breaks the front page, ok, a lot of front page games has free models, but some are quit funny to play, make a new category if you have to, that’s fine.

Regular Script in workspace (Run in Studio):

workspace.FilteringEnabled = false

It works.

(Also, does the code button not work or something? :? )

@Not: It won’t work in an actual game though

I don’t think this needs to replace popular, it would probably be better to add a new category. Also, what if there was an option to only show FE games on the games page, that way people will be able to find good games that are (mostly) exploiter-free.

How are so many people for this?

The idea that only FE games should be allowed on the popular sort?

That idea would actually KILL ROBLOX.

I shouldn’t be worried about them actually doing this, but here is the reality:
There are at least 100,000 players playing the top 150 or so games right now. There are not very many FE games, and there are 100,000 players hungry for the top popular games on Roblox at this instant. Can you imagine how many unique players play Roblox each month?

You want them to be confined to maybe a total of 50-100 games that might be using FE right now? Out of those obviously few of them are very great with the players, otherwise they’d be around the top now. (I understand a few FE games are already near the top)

But just because a game is FE, does not make it a good game that can sustain a lot of players to make it a viable option for being on the popular sort.

Also think about all the ad revenue ROBLOX makes from these players switching over to another popular game. The more different games on popular, the more they are likely to check another out = more ad revenue. With only FE games, there would be a huge halt in the amount of games coming out.

This idea would kill Roblox, I don’t advise to try to say otherwise.

Adding a new category however, wouldn’t kill Roblox, which might be bit better of an idea.

Dont you freaking touch the popular sort.

If I could just interpose for a second…

But in all seriousness, I would like if we had a sort titled “Filtered games” made separately for all those FE’d games.

So you’re saying my game is shit because I didn’t tick an option? Ok then. I spent hours on end programming and building way before F.E. was existent, and just because of this my game should burn at the stake? That’s totally fair. :uhhh:
