Positions of materials should save

As a developer who actually does care a lot about wood grain and the finer details that come with modelling, there is one certain issue that bothers me. It has to do with planks; let me explain.
So I made steps for this pedestrian bridge I’m modelling and I’m using the planks material to do each step. Wanting to make this perfect, I’d duplicate the part many times until the texture is perfect so that the plank is continuous across the part, as shown below:

Perfect, right?!

But when I save and close the place, then later reopen studio and the place, all of the planks are misaligned again.

ew.

What I would like to see is for Roblox to save the position of the material on parts just like a texture.
Thank you for your time and I hope this aspect of materials can be improved for us OCD developers!

And in case this can’t be a thing, I propose a new material ‘LongPlanks’ (because WoodPlanks2 would be weird) where its just like the other WoodPlanks material but it has no ends, its just one long neverending board. Not to be confused with the Wood material because that doesn’t have the 2x4 look and feel.

I don’t think this is a good idea. In my eyes, materials are less of a feature for their textures, and more for their physical properties. If you want something like long planks that function identicaly to wood planks in a physics sense (I doubt you’re gonna even subject it to physics with that example image) just upload a texture to lay over it. I don’t see the need for a new texture though.

That’s clunky and annoying though. Best case scenario is custom materials… but I don’t think that’ll happen for a while.
