Premium Moderation

Pay 100 tix for your sound, decal, shirt, etc. to get moderated sooner. I think this would be a good feature because a lot the the main developers that get money from place visits, can get there items moderated sooner, so that they can build quicker. I think that if this feature did get added, that people with bc, tbc or obc should get there items moderated sooner for free, so this would also give another reason for people to get bc.

Moderation time has never been an issue for me, and you can instantly use your own / group assets in Studio right after you’ve uploaded them, you can also see non-moderated assets of your own in-game straight away for online testing.

Moderation is pretty fast as it is now… Though moderation is not always consistent (probably due to timezones) and then it can take up to 3 hours or more. 3 hours are long enough to lose something worth way more than whatever it would take you to pay for priority moderation.

This was requested plenty of times, but Roblox has a vision of cutting moderation times into really short ones where there would be no need for moderation priorities.

I always end up uploading content at night so I usually have to wait multiple hours T.T

I’m a fan, but perhaps not quite so cheap.

However, it doesn’t quite fit with "never charge developers.’

This has been discussed many times before. If roblox gives special privileges to top developers then new developers will have a hard time competing. I can’t see a way that this wouldn’t be toxic to development in the long run.

“You see that Developer Ethan?”
“Yeah?”
“He just paid to have a decal loaded sooner”
“Why does the man always have to be keepin us down. I mean, he totally did something that didn’t effect me other than how Roblox normally operates and yet I am completely unable to pass him in development”

New developers won’t need to use the premium feature, just because they’ve started developing, there’s no need to speed up the moderating for them.

“I sure wish my decal would pend” - new developer who has to wait 5 hours because everyone else is jumping the queue

You don’t seem to realize that by speeding up moderation for top developers everyone else’s service is being slowed down. New developers should not be punished for being new. If anything it’s them who should get to jump the queue.

New developer ~= not top developer

The majority of ROBLOX’s developers are not top developers (that’s kind of the whole concept of top developers). Let’s pretend I’m making my own spin off of Mad Games. I finish the game, release it, and it gets a bunch of players. Mad Studio then tosses together a quick update, has their assets immediately moderated by paying for faster moderation, and releases it. They start pulling players from my game, and I have to wait hours to retaliate and release my own update because my own assets are pending in moderation and I can’t exactly release content whose textures don’t exist for everyone else yet. I’m far from a new developer, but I wouldn’t be able to keep up with their asset creation because I don’t have the money to have all of my assets instantly approved. (The 100 ticket price isn’t going to happen – the whole point of paying to get your assets moderated is to get them moderated faster. If everyone is doing it, there’d be no point. The price would have to be to the point where few people could afford it)

@zech: It’d also be nice if you would stop the passive-aggressive sarcasm. Just because you don’t understand the reasoning doesn’t mean it’s nonexistent.

Ok then, so maybe it should be 500 tix to get it moderated quicker. But also if you got a lot of players from making a remake of mad games, then it’s likely they’d try to compete with you, which seems fair and if you wanted to fight back, you’d have to spend money from the tix you earned from the people playing your game. Also it just seems silly trying to compete with mad studios in the first place.

If you’re going to manually quote people, please make sure to attach their name to quotes so it’s not an anonymous quote. You can do so like this:

500 tickets as a fee does not help at all. That’s still extremely affordable and most people on ROBLOX will be able to afford that – you’ll end up with everyone doing it and then premium moderation loses its purpose. If this were implemented, it’d be in Robux, as that’s ROBLOX’s go-to currency for fees, and it’d be really expensive so that the amount of assets put into the premium queue would be reasonable. As some others have previously brought up though, ROBLOX is moving towards “never charge developers”, and premium moderation goes against that principle – they’d rather just improve moderation times for everyone. Even now moderation times aren’t terrible, so I don’t see why you can’t just be patient and wait for your assets to pass through the moderation queue.

Honestly, moderation is fast enough, and any new updates I am working on never are slowed down because of decals or something waiting. I am always able to use them in studio without issue.

500 tix is quite a lot, and I agree, robux probably would be better. But like you said, the moderating is already pretty quick, so you only need to pay 500 tix to speed it up, so it’s not really a feature you would use everytime, unless if you are a popular game maker, that wants to update their games rapidly. If you don’t care about waiting, then you don’t need to pay, it’s simple as that.

In my opinion, moderation is already fast enough. ROBLOX’s moderation times will continually increase, and they’re already fast enough. If you’re really concerned about not having assets moderated fast enough, try to queue them ahead of time so that they’re ready when you need them.

While I disagree with having "Premium Moderation", I'd like to note that for just a poorly-earning developer, 500 tix is so cheap that they'd give it away for fast-tracked moderation any time they desired it. If we really are to implement this, it needs to have a higher price, but there is definitely an issue of how high this price should get. Overall, the amount of variabless that could go into an optimal price for this feature make it not worth it within itself.

If you’re making an update that requires new decals/audio/etc, you should be uploading these assets well in advance of the launch time. I’ve never encountered a situation of “I’m ready to release this brand new update, but I can’t because these dang assets aren’t finished pending!”

I don’t believe there’s a good reason to have a “fast lane” option for moderation. Every user should have consistent moderation times.

Exactly. The only reason you’d ever need premium moderation is if you’re uploading content with the specific intention of having it pended before your competition so you can push a super fast update before they have a chance to react. This type of money-based competition is not healthy for anyone involved. It would both promote garbage content and discourage quality content, and that is not okay.

I still want premium moderation. Ye boi. I want unfair advantage.

I just wish there’s a guaranteed maximum amount of time I’d have to wait.

I absofuckinglutely hate uploading a decal, realizing it’s sunday, and then having to put off playtesting the game with friends.

This applies to regular onsite moderation as well. The mods have a consistent sleep schedule where anyone could just exploit a certain time to post as much profanities as they wish, with zero punishment for literally HOURS because someone decided it’s a good ideas to synchronize all the mods’ sleeping schedules.

Plan ahead… I always think its best to have content ready to release prior to the actual release date. But that’s just my opinion.
