Problem selling GFX

So I’ve been doing business with someone for a GFX. I did exactly everything they told me to do, but they still press on about how this isn’t what they want.

They told me they want a man with a fedora and suit in the dark for a game icon. Is this not what you would’ve pictured?

Thanks. I understand it can be better but for a game icon you can’t really make the pictures too big.

@UneducatedScripter Wow, it looks really cool. If you’re having to much trouble with it I recommend canceling it as you might be able to find other sellers who will pay more.

@UneducatedScripter maybe ask them if they want a background.

I agree and that’s the problem they said they wanted him in the dark with less lighting in his face and so I did that, but they just continue to press on.

I don’t see a problem with it. Maybe ask them what they think is wrong with it?

It’s important to know the specifics before starting commissions.
I personally think it’s not the customer’s responsibility to make it clear, yes they have to collaborate but it’s the person being commissioned’s (you) responsibility to ask for the information you need in order to make what you want them to have.

Every customer is different and you can’t change that. You can change yourself and hence it’s a good idea to ask them questions like:

  1. “Do you have an example?”
    (Very important question!)
  2. “What style are you looking for?”
  3. “Do you have anything in particular you want on this picture?”
  4. “Do you have any questions or notices you wish to share?”

Then, after you made a sketch, ask them for feedback.
“Is this what you were looking for? If not, what exactly would you like to see changed?”
Then reiterate based on their feedback, fix whatever they told you and repeat until you have the product they want.

This will keep it clear both for you and the customer regardless.

FYI: asking for feedback from others who are not the customer is not necessarily going to help: you’re making it for a customer, not the people here.

Add a dim light above the person’s head and then that should solve this. The light is just way to dark to see it and with a dim light above the hat it will look A LOT better.

I understand. I have taken all of this into consideration. I tell the customer before every deal give me all details you need to know before I begin working because once I begin working I don’t want any errors. Only had this problem once in the past but the customer was willing to pay good money for a good GFX. I was doing this for cheap since the customer is low on robux at the moment. That’s the main reason why I feel like they shouldn’t be complaining as much so I came here to ask around and vent for a moment.

I agree with @AidanPlaysYT_Real , you can’t really see the fedora so add a bit of dim lighting above the fedora so that it shows. If you hadn’t said that they wanted a fedora I would have never knew there was a fedora.

Been trying to fix this problem for almost an hour the crazy part is roblox’s fedora doesn’t seem to appear with the texture in the rendering.

Similar issue with me, a specific black hood doesn’t texture the right way too when I render it.

Actually no this isn’t what I would’ve pictures. See everyone has their own perception on things I personally imagined seeing the fedora a bit more and it tilted down and the man at an angle. But that’s me so if I were you I’d ask for reference images and explain to him what you think he wants and see if that’s correct.

Turn on evee.

Umm, I would think anything related to roblox would be acceptable in the dev forum, and the texturing is of a roblox catalog item, and he is using it to make a GFX which is part of #help-and-feedback:art-design-support

I think that brightening the scene up just a little bit would help because right now parts of his face are weirdly orange like he has a rash of some sorts. Also I recommend using denoising (if you are using blender) to get rid of the pixely parts of his face.

Telling the truth here but the gfx’s are not that great first there way to saturated and it looks really REALLY boring add a background such as an alley way at night time etc not just a person standing there with just a blank background its ugly, its super boring and plain.

Dont be afraid to use free models!

Well you must’ve not read when I said I do what the customer tells me to do. I appreciate the information but they told me to do it this way, and they aren’t paying no more than 75 and usually I work better on projects when they pay the correct price.

then all i say is its not in the quality they wanted.

Also give us more information eg what did they EXACTLY ask you to make/what was the message they sent for what they want

I must say, It has to be a bigger size, it’s not the right size for a game icon.

Try making it 1080x1090 and move on from there.

This will make it so there is no white strip’s showing on the game icon.

Try hiding the name ALOT more so that everyone who does buy your stuff won’t see the name right away,
This help’s with game’s so no one immediately. Hope this helped.

Example:

This is not the right size, but you can see that my name is hidden very well yet, If you wan’t to know who the creator is, you look for it and then find it.

Try using R15 and make sure that EVERY body part has a position, this give’s the feel that it is more realistic.
