PSA: The Roblox App Beta for Windows is Chugging Along!

Why can’t I copy paste my 2fa verification code when I try to log into my account using the app?

It’s okay. I personally dislike the mobile-looking UI and the “leave Roblox” prompt. If you’re going to use it, please make a “do not show this again” option and I believe it will be a lot nicer. =)

So why the hell are they forcing us to use it??

There is an X in the corner, are you okay?

If a laptop user doesn’t know how to do this, then they either barely use their laptop (and thus probably wouldn’t play roblox), or have never gone to public school.

This prompt can be disabled, there is now a “Don’t show this again” checkbox.

It feels weird for it to be in beta for two years. TWO YEARS! Since December 2020.

You’re a bit late to respond eh? The initial release did not have the X that pops up in full screen mode as it does now. They added that later.

I assure you there is a high percentage of laptop users that have no idea what a ‘two finger drag’ is or that it will scroll the screen.(even public school children, yes)

Yes it did? I’ve had the desktop app for two years now, since December 2020, and I can confirm there was always an X button to close the client, both in fullscreen mode and not.

The “initial release” was two years ago, as I previously said. Get your facts straight.

Well whether or not it was there is irrelevant, I didn’t leave my mouse pointer at the edge of the top of the screen long enough for it to pop down, so I didn’t know it was there so it was not useful to me.

I’m not trying to be in a lets see who is correct contest with you. I’m not sure why you’re digging up months old posts to critique.

Roblox no longer lets you opt out of this. There is a workaround though:

Just remove the -app string in the desktop shortcuts path, and change it to -web

100% worked for me!

Alt + F4 exists as well, mind you. No reason for the X button
