Publishing this game to roblox causes it to break: Slime Character Playground Demo - Roblox
If you want people to assist you with your issues, it’s recommended to try to solve it yourself first and then provide targeted and specific questions.
What about it has broken? What script has broken? Have you tried debugging it yourself first? Can you provide the relevant code that is breaking? etc.
Attaching a link to a game with the comment “Saving this game to roblox causes it to break” contains almost zero useful information, and you’re asking developers on the forum to take a decent chunk out of their spare time to analyse your game and its code in full without even knowing what the problem is in the first place.
it’s not really a code problem, more of a studio bug, but I’m not sure any clue how to solve it. The game mysteriously breaks whenever i try to save it. It’s someone else’s game that was open sourced. I was wondering if anyone had been able to get it to work.
I have no clue what could possible cause it to break when saving it to roblox.
What do you mean by “the game mysteriously breaks”? What exactly breaks about the game?
Can’t help you without scripts …
Guys. The game is open sourced. My problem
Has nothing to do with scripts. I can’t post this in a bug category for some reason. Regardless, the problem is that when I copy the game and save it to studio it no longer works. Please try copying the game yourself and seeing the issue I am talking about. As I said, it’s open sourced.
Before saving to Roblox, the custom character works perfectly, however, after saving to Roblox it no longer works as intended and the physics is off.
Sorry I looked at this earlier and didn’t see anything about saving… Misunderstood what you were asking. After saving and rerunning I’m not seeing a problem however. You’ll have to replace them sounds. Other than that what is the problem?
The mesh character is broken. You can’t control it after saving but before saving you can.
I had no problems moving it after. I am on a PC. Even left it running and walked up to the store, still working fine after 20min
Nope, mine looks the same as it was.
oh dang then that’s really really weird…any clue how I might fix that?
Try to save it to a different name and try again, from the original… without removing the old copy.
Go slow give it time to save and wait a bit after saving before exiting. Don’t change anything…
I’ve tried saving it multiple different ways now–overwriting to another place, saving it to another game as a separate place. It still won’t work for some reason.
I would also like to mentin that if i copy and paste the character into the workspace (before saving–when the character still works), the copied version in the workspace exhibits the same weird physics as when I publish or save the game to roblox.
I never published the game. I’m sure this may have had something to do with being savable like it was. Never really worked with that bone system don’t know anything about it.
I didn’t publish it, i just pressed save to roblox and saved it as a game which caused it to break. Did you save it to roblox or just download it?
I hit edit from the page and saved it that way to my system.
