RBXDev - Migrating to a new forum home

People will be limited to how much they can post and where? That sounds like a really strange thing to add.[/quote]
They already have it in this forum - new users are limited to where they can post during a probationary period.[/quote]

Read that carefully.

“gaining the ability to post more and in more places”

What forum software is going to be used?

I knew that was what you were hinting at. :stuck_out_tongue:

Like others here, I’m also curious as to what forum software you’re planning on using.

and this user have 12 other thankyous

I too am interested in what software the new forum will be using.[/quote]

For example, I can not post in “Look at this Cool Creation” because I’m new

lol noob!!!

o/t I’m assuming thank yous wont be carrying over, so I’m interested in the new system  I gotta work hard to get a 1:1+ ratio back!

Also, are we keeping the same emoticons, bbcode, etc.?

To be honest, thank you’d should be just a simple like button.

Oh yeah, speaking of that, what will the new forum’s karma/rating/whatever system be? I remember hearing downvotes causing trouble here so they were removed. Will we still have some sort of upvote system? Personally I’d like something like StackExchange where you can downvote posts but at the cost of losing some of your own reputation. This would ensure that people used it in moderation.

Also, @Kevin, it’s better for you probably. Right now you’re pretty stuck in the #3 spot:

Starting from scratch, you might be able to make it to #2/#1.[/quote]

Well considering your post to thank-you ratio. The higher number doesn’t really matter in this case. As Whimzee said, the current system promotes elitism.

Erm… How is that any different from the current system except in name?

Until somebody is able to prove that, it’s nothing more than pessimistic garbage.

We should remove post count too because the current system promotes elitism.

WOW YOU HAVE LESS LIKES THAN POSTS? LOL NOOB

WOW YOU HAVE MORE LIKES THAN POSTS? WHAT A GOODY GOODY TRYHARD!

Kunena worked well on mobile until some people with hugely breaking siggys made it look broken hence why I even shrinked mine down.

We should remove online or offline status because it promotes elitism.

I’m being made fun of aren’t I?

Just a bit. We’re only teasing you!

That’s exactly it. “Like” can fit in any scenario, but “Thank You” isn’t always the right word choice for supporting a post. Subtle but nice change.

Sometimes you just need to burn a whole building down to make something better.
