Reduced Minimum Part Size - Released Everywhere!

There were similar features, however some were either legacy or disabled due to engine capabilities.

AMAZING STUFF!!!
Will the max size ever be increased?

I always had mine 1 to 0 so not real big change here for me anyways!

NICE! this will be so useful for building. it will allow for more detailed work. this will be useful for my game.

Depends on what you’re doing:

  • The scale tool has been updated to allow parts to resize down to under 0.05 in size.

  • Freeform dragging does what you want (will get things flush).

  • Moving, Scaling, or Rotating with Collisions enabled will not get things flush because it is based on the collision geometry of the part (which is still at least 0.05 in size).

I don’t imagine this will be an issue because most experienced builders who would be making a lot of tiny parts work with Collisions always turned off, but we’re open to feedback.

Fun fact, that’s why the limit is 0.001 and not arbitrarily small for the time being, to avoid complexity with divide by zero (in engine code and developer scripts that interact with parts).

Yeah, that was the joke. Ive been writing my own 3D engine and I had to overcome this issue in my perspective calculations for rendering triangles in meshes.

Oh no! Anyways…

Does this apply to imported meshes as well? Sometimes when importing entire vehicles that are small in blender, the smallest meshes get rotated and resized and messed up.

Applies to all types of part, including basic primitives and MeshParts.

I have the beta feature enabled, but I cant get it any smaller than 0.05.

Wait what… I.

black holes are cool would be very good for me epic game!11!

What do you mean? Custom gravitational zone?

How yeah, this is amazing. I never encountered the problem of needing smaller parts myself but I’ll have to admit that sometimes when making models I wished I could’ve used a smaller part just to give that tiny extra detail.

Otherwise, what I really want to see is how could this be used in tricky ways, specially for games like those where you paint things with parts emulating colors and pixels, this could allow for thinnier brushes. In general I would like to see if this allows for builders (since modelers use to have blender as its main tool) to have a lot more detail for their buildings.

I’d really like to see a feature for resizing non accessories on a character as well (like how you can do that with the studio resizer tool), this already helped lots by the way, thank you!

One day, hopefully this will look correct.

I have some feedback:

The highlighting is in the way, quite a flaw.

Awesome update! Thanks you.
This reminded me about massive worlds and remote physics grids from Hack Week.
Is the update cancelled or is it still being worked on? I’d love to see the update come out.

So many possibilities! Thank you for the cool update, Roblox!
