Let’s mark the start of this week 5/5/25 with a quick celebration of Square Root Day! 5/5/25 = 5 ⨉ 5 (5²) = 25. Remember this won’t happen again until 6/6/2036!
Oh, and there’s a shiny new release (672) which is a lot more interesting than roots, square or otherwise. √
Dude I don’t know I just write code for Rojo I’m not Roblox.
That said, Luau LSP is probably what you want. It uses the same analyzer as Studio, just with different settings, so it’s going to be as good as you can get. If there’s a behavior difference between the two you can probably open an issue on Luau LSP’s repo or join the OSS server and ask about it.
Not mentioned in this update log, but I wanted to say it anyways— I am concerned about the next gen studio ui.
It is currently a beta, but I hope it is left optional after release. I’ve used studio for so long, when the ui was enabled automatically at one point it absolutely crippled me; I had to dig through the beta to turn it back off, I don’t know what I will do if/when it becomes a full thing.
I’m so used to having all my tools and buttons visible, and not hidden under beautified dropdowns; The bar looks so bare with the new ui since all the stuff is collapsed, and I can’t even find some tools at all.
I just hope they find a middle ground and don’t abstract the people who’ve used the same layout for years. There has got to be a way to “modernize” the UI without completely reorganizing / removing some tools.
Official support for multiple controllers is a huge step forward for those working with splitscreen and local multiplayer experiences. Something many devs have been waiting for.
CapabilityControl is also a powerful addition for developers aiming to build more secure and modular sandboxed systems.
And seeing EditableMesh and FACS being officially introduced shows that the future of facial customization and mesh deformation is coming in strong.
Thanks for keeping things transparent with the technical community.
A few changes/fixes for the new gen ui is mentioned in the release note here as well in past release notes. A feature changing it’s beta/live state usually doesn’t have it’s own point in a release note (would be for the previous release note as well not this one), but they have a dedicated announcement post Next Gen Studio - Preparing for Takeoff! [Beta]
It’s also unlikely that the previous ui will be supported, it contains bugs, UX flaws and limitations. They have every reason to stop supporting it so ultimately you’ll have to get used to the new gen ui.
If you read into the announcement and reports/staff answers in the thread, there are still changes to be made to improve the look and spacing on the ui, as well additional features.
You can create and modify your own tabs to fit your needs for the toolset and buttons that work best for your workflow. This customizability was made exactly to make it work for people with different needs, hope this answers your concern.
