Roblox client issues with NVIDIA Drivers

UPDATE 2/14/25:
NVIDIA JUST RELEASED A NEW DRIVER THAT FIXES THIS ISSUE. THIS DOESN’T MEAN THAT ROBLOX SHOULD IGNORE THIS ISSUE AS IT COULD ARISE AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. Updating to the latest driver seems to be the fix. Please update to (572.42) and that should fix all your problems with roblox acting up

Basically on windows 11 (24H2) the roblox client has acting up a ton lately. When you launch an ‘experience’ on the website or the client, the roblox client either initiates but doesn’t run the ‘expereience’ or it wont even initiate at all. Sometimes it’ll start, join the experience and then crash but still leave you in game on the servers end. Sometimes it’ll throw an empty error or an error stating it failed to fetch

I think has to do with the past two or three updates you guys did on the client. I couldn’t find much information but I did find another post on devforum. I posted my own post as well hoping people had a fix but people were just as clueless as I was.

I tried everything possible. I have tried running roblox without bloxstrap. I tried running roblox without my VPN, I tried updating drivers (GPU drivers), and I tried clearing all (GPU) drivers and reinstalling fresh drivers. I did try reinstalling roblox (three seperate times actually.) Someone mentioned resetting my internet but that won’t do anything either.

My system specs:
OS: Windows 11 24H2 x64 (26100.2033)
GPU: RTX 4070 TI (Not Overclocked.)
CPU: R7 5800X3D (Not Overclocked either.)
RAM: 2X16 3600MHZ (CL18) (I know my ram is not the issue, yes I am running at 3600MHZ.)
SSD: Samsung 990 Pro 4TB (New installation.)

Other Posts on this issue (One is mine.)

Expected behavior

I expect roblox to identify the problem and please fix it so I can play roblox when I hit the blue play button. Instead of just having this issue where roblox refuses to launch 10 times in a row.

EDIT: I also noticed that we got a performance boost by like 5%-20% in terms of FPS but the issue is that the cards can’t handle a lot of parts like they used to. One of my friends spawned in probably 1000 parts and us who had NVIDIA cards; our FPS tanked. The one friend with an AMD card didn’t get any impacts on his performance. (Our cards are on par he has the RX 7900 XT and I have the RTX 4070 TI. Neither are supposed to tank in FPS with just 1k parts. I used to be able to spawn in 10K parts with not much impact on FPS.

** We have come to the conclusion that roblox is interfering with NVIDIA drivers. I asked another friend who has a RTX 4090 and he hasn’t updated drivers for 2 months and hasn’t had any issues. As of right now I am not sure what cards it affects but here are the current cards it has affected;
RTX 4080
RTX 4070 TI
RTX 2080
GTX 1600 cards

FYI I don’t have anything like 3rd party anti virus softwares or anything similar running in the background of my pc.

Edit: Roblox made my pc BSOD again just now. I think roblox is interfering with NVIDIA drivers.

Asked a few others, 4xxx nvidia gpus 100% have weird issues on roblox right now, not limited to just this but also insane lag in games like jujutsu infinite and archived, I hope we get an update soon

I have a rtx 3060 and it’s acting up too, might be a driver issue.

Yeah a friend of mine has a GTX 1600 series card and he’s having issues. So it’s not the new NVIDIA cards alone, its all NVIDIA cards. I definitely think roblox is interfering with drivers.

I have a RTX 3060 and didn’t update my drivers since December. I don’t experience any particular issue right now. Maybe try reverting your drivers for now?

Out of Roblox, I heard people had issues with the new 572.42 drivers. You can see this here: 40* & 50* Series Black Screen Bug Fi | NVIDIA GeForce Forums

Figuring out of this, I won’t update my drivers for now…

I actually did do that already and it didn’t fix anything. I wasn’t having any issues with the screen going black though. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I will try this again.

To which version did you revert? I don’t experience issues and I’m on 566.36 drivers.

Tbh I don’t remember, it was probably the update prior to 572.42

I’ve checked on th NVIDIA website and it says that it’s 572.16. You actually need to try installing the 566.36 drivers and see if it goes better.

Did the 4070 TI get 566.36? I didn’t see that as an option I only saw 572.16 and 572.42

If you’re looking on the NVIDIA app, then yes, you only have two options avalaible. You must get the drivers here. Look in “Show more versions” and you’ll find the drivers in question.

I thought this was normal, how’d you relate it to nvidia?

Friends with AMD cards are not affected at all.

Looks like NVIDIA just released a drivers update less than 24 hours ago that fixes this issue. Updating to the latest driver seems to be the fix. (572.42) should fix all your problems with roblox.

Gee, that was the 572.16. People experienced lots of problems on this version.

Guess I can safely upgrade now.

Oh, and I heard the NVIDIA app has a terrible impact on performances. So, if the issue persists to anyone, try going back to Geforce Experience.
