As @R0bl0x10501050 stated before, we are asking to see the source code of what is put in the games directly, not for their external server code, or anything like that. We are just asking for the ability to easily read the original source code of what goes in our games and nothing more.
Remember what I was talking about is advertising platforms that have proof donât hold personal info, the issue I was talking about is brands bypassing moderation to advertise their platform on Roblox.
Thatâs like not having Roblox installed and wanting to inspect the game files to check itâs safe.
It can be naturally assumed that the Roblox Client and Studio is safe to download because Roblox is a reputable company when it comes to things like that. The difference here is that we want to be able to audit something that may go into our games which may provide our monetary income. Please do not compare the two, they are on way different scales.
I was saying that if you get accepted youâll receive the code to review if you donât then the source code means nothing to you. To simplify this, his source code means nothing to the general public so there is no use giving it to the general public.
Again to just make it easier why not just completely restrict this? Considering the moderation team is only a small number of people to a large number of community members, do you think it would be easy to moderate everything? If you have an idea that relates to bots moderating around the platform to help with the human moderators, I believe this is much more worst, considering bots are not people, and will possibly have flaws.
The general public should be able to READ the source code so they can make an informed decision about the authenticity of the service being provided by BloxBiz in the first place without having to jump through hoops. And if the source code is trustworthy, then BloxBiz loses nothing and gains a better image in the end.
Because between you and me, I would take the word of uninvolved parties of the public over the words of select members of a private program you have to get accepted into.
So how will these new rules affect games that have 3rd party advertising or anything that now does not fit into the rules? How will this be enforced?
To enter the program, I must disclose my full name and much more info to BloxBiz. Do you think I want to do that just to see the source code?
Yes, it does. The general public who will see this is devforum members, who are asking to see the source.
âthird partyâ is a broad term. It could be service or content.
If third party means that Blox Biz ad images bypass Roblox image moderation, then I agree with Robloxâs side.
.
If third party means that Blox Biz ad images go through Roblox image moderation and it means referring to a service hosted by someone else that keeps in mind of the safety of Roblox platform, then itâs a bad update.
However they cannot use this code themselves making the code worthless to them.
Nope, all ads pass through moderation from what has been stated.
The purpose of source code is to verify what we are using is safe!
But which moderation? The roblox moderation system or the ones who run the service? Be more specific.
However, the code could be insecure to leak to the public (there may be no authentication measures in place)
Both. However, a moderator employed by Roblox that may not be familiar with the newest rules may, letâs say, approve an ad for the Core engine. This is allowing an enemy platform advertise within Roblox.
All the images pass through Roblox and the siteâs moderation.
I believe theyâre talking about the moderation system for ads around the Roblox platform, however, itâs still wrong, to depend on moderation for security over the ads, rather than just completely restricting it, againâŚ
I believe this is the only reasonable action for them to take, rather than just making it go to moderation, which we know have flaws, rather than just completely restricting it, and save time to moderators to just completely not allow it?
What are you talking about? If it was insecure, they wouldnât even give it to people who signed up.
In my opinion, Roblox should allow third party ads as long the third party ads goes through the Roblox moderation system and the ads be moderated fairly along with all of the other stuff on Roblox.
