I’m reaching out because I’m facing a frustrating issue with an IP violation complaint that I believe was falsely reported. Despite providing extensive evidence and explaining the situation to Roblox customer support, my account was wrongly moderated, and I’m not getting any resolution.
Here’s the situation: a user filed a complaint claiming that their intellectual property was used improperly. However, I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find any evidence that their claim is legitimate or that their name is trademarked. They didn’t provide any proof to Roblox either.
I submitted a detailed 14-page PowerPoint to Roblox support, but all I’m getting are generic responses insisting that the moderation was correct. It feels like they’re not even reviewing the information I provided. Here’s an image showing the response I received:
Additionally, when I tried to file a counter-notice, I was repeatedly asked for my signature, even though I’ve already provided it multiple times.
It seems like the same person who handled the initial DMCA complaint is also dealing with my counter-notice, and they’re not properly reviewing the evidence. It’s incredibly frustrating, and I feel like I’m hitting a wall with support that doesn’t seem to understand or address the issue.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any advice or support would be greatly appreciated.
To be honest for the first time in 2 years I hate developing on ROBLOX, if situations like this occur where the staff are braindead and have no clue what they’re talking about.
I understand how this is frustrating. Something similar happened to me recently with one of my games music that I made got taken down for intellectual property violation. (Even though I made the music) So I just replaced the music with another self made song because Roblox barely gave any information about the deletion.
You can try to ask him on why he did this, try to message him through dev forum / roblox or any type of communciation or something (if he says for example: I did that as a joke) you could provide that as evidence for roblox customer support.
It’s soo frustrating, It feels like I’m talking to a brick wall. They literally don’t even provide the reason but rather the PDF file which contains information that isn’t even tied to the case.
Even though we left the EU, a lot of EU laws are still respected for UK individuals for a variety of reasons such as withdrawal & international agreements.
I managed to DMCA the guy 4 times using the rights manager, all my dmca’s where 100% correct and abide by the law. If I was able to DMCA him for copying my game name, would that go through?
I agree. Roblox is pretty bad right now. Like currently I’m being targeted on the dev forum (yippee). The thing I hate most is sus stuff. Little kids don’t need that in their life (Nor do we but we are smart enough to evade it).
Roblox is going to fall. Roblox will see that it is falling and fix itself, but we need to go through the bad to get to the good.
There is always an equal amount of bad as there is good.
