Learned a lot about time and team coordination this time
Are we allowed to update our games now that the jam’s winners are announced?
I think so, yeah. The game is yours!
Depends if your entry is valid
Congrats to the winners
I saw so many awesome games, and it was really cool to see all the creativity and effort everyone put in, Great job to all who participated!
Meanwhile 2 games that won are just copies of WarioWare and Portal
I feel like we lack transparency from Roblox on how the entries and winners are judged. There is no feedback for us to improve next time, it’s really vague. A rating system out of 10, or a ranking system, or at least a comment per game would really be helpful and be more fair for all of us. I realize a thousand entries is a large number, but that also means developers of 900+ games have been left out without any feedback.
Like @Vulpany and @CodinGlitch mentioned, we don’t know how long the judges / testers play the game for — if they even get past the first stage. From our perspective, we don’t know if the judges run into issues / bugs, or if they think that the game doesn’t fit the theme, or they just got plain bored and quit.
Also, the number of honorable mentions has been reduced to 5? Last year’s game jam of this time had around 9-10 if I’m correct. Now that we have over a thousand entries it’d make sense to have more. I believe our game could do that at least. This has been one of our best submissions over the years of participating, everyone from the team has poured in hours of work to make it that way.
I don’t mean to complain about the winners, they did well, congratulations to them. I request transparency from Roblox on the judgement criteria, for all the entries and winners.
This time there’s less honorable mentions due to 100$ reward for each.
You can place the box under you and step on it, using that, you can essentially fly.
Last Train Home was a very good game, I was normally not going to write a review but that game got Migrated to Latest Update right when I was playing it lol. And I’m the first one to finish the game after it got the new badges so I wanted to comment, definitely worth a play, I recommend!
I saw 2 people played the game me and my friend made lol
The best 2 minutes of your life, you gotta agree
i swear to god my game is literally just talking with npc’s for a about 7 minutes before getting sent to a bossfight
(i wanted to make it kind of similar to Let Him Go but with a bossfight and a theme around glitchiness instead of depression)
if they really only played for a minute then i dont even know if my team and I will get the devrel accessory because the first minute is legit just talking to npc’s
Even obby is enough to get it honestly. So don’t worry about that. =]
Has anyone gotten the participation prize yet becuase I still havent.
It often takes several weeks to get the item.
If it’s the most engaging, why does it have 50%?
2 of the 3 winners this year have a massive dislike count (compared to the amount of likes). its crazy… I kinda can understand it for the portal clone since its a portal clone but whats wrong with “panic at the system”? I cant really check myself due to my pc having broken roblox
My assumption is haters and people who disapproved challenge backend systems.
Just after reading all that mess about testing process and backscenes, it looks like games was selected NOT by fair means. I myself see that at least 3 times - honest trash won 1st place, while real gems got nothing
There’s sadly no clear inside in all that, and only thing which we can do is either trust hosters team or do riot on forum, and with 50/50 chance either remove dev challenges completely or make it better.
incredibly boring, the gameplay loop is 4 unique levels that each take under 10 seconds to complete
still waiting for a egg hunt event and the decorporatization of roblox.
Like a Roblox game event?
The downfall of Roblox?
