I dont know if this is the right category. Anyway, my game keeps publishing automatically and it is really annoying because when I’m trying to make an update to the game it just publishes automatically when the update isnt even finished. This is really annoying and I need to fix this
One possibility is that you have the “Auto-Publish Changes” option enabled in the Roblox Studio settings. To disable this option, follow these steps:
- Open Roblox Studio and click on the “File” menu in the top left corner.
- Select “Settings” from the menu.
- In the settings menu, click on the “Advanced” tab.
- Under the “Publishing” section, you should see an option called “Auto-Publish Changes.” Make sure this option is unchecked.
If the “Auto-Publish Changes” option is already disabled, or if disabling it doesn’t fix the issue, there may be a problem with your Roblox Studio installation. You can try repairing the installation by following these steps:
- Close Roblox Studio.
- Open the Start menu and search for “Apps & features.”
- In the “Apps & features” window, find “Roblox Studio” in the list and click on it.
- Click on the “Modify” button.
- In the “Modify Roblox Studio” window, select the “Repair” option and click “Next.”
- Follow the prompts to complete the repair process.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue with your Roblox game automatically publishing. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you need further assistance.
Do you mean ‘Studio Settings’ when you’re talking about settings? Because I dont find it.

Yes I mean Studio Settings
I dont even find the setting
These are all the settings under ‘Advanced’
"I’m sorry if my comment caused any confusion. Upon further inspection, it looks like I was using an outdated version.
I wanted to follow up and let you know that I updated
Alright, nice do you know how to do it now?
Roblox took this feature away so it may be a bug at this point in time, I don’t know.
Sorry I can’t be any more help to you
Ahh, its fine. I’ll just update it in a test place. Thank you anyway.
Does your game publish when you “Save to Roblox” inside studio? If so you can try doing this. Go to your game via website and click the 3 dots in the corner. Click “Configure place” and click on the Experience tab. Then you should see “Allow this place to be published using the save place API”. Make sure it’s unchecked so it doesn’t publish every time you save.
Simple. I had the same issue. Just turn off “Team Create” and you’re all set. No more publishing automatically.

Your response looks awfully a lot like a ChatGPT solution rather than an actual solution. The AI has a habit with making up things that don’t exist. IIRC, Roblox never had a toggle for this in the settings. I would respond with information only you know of, accurately. As far as I am aware, misinformation is basically misuse of the forum.
Roblox Studio when Team Create is turned on, seems to automatically update the experience when Studio is open, however it doesn’t publish changes when it does so. If you have any features in your game that reply on the Updated
status on the Roblox website game page, then they will display different results if you’re actively in a Team Create session.
You could try @iLevnth’s response, though from some research found on this thread from awhile ago, I believe it’s used to update the experience remotely, from another experience owned by the same creator. I may have interpreted the users reply incorrectly, but I’m pretty sure that’s what the Save Place API does.
Regardless, try anyways. Reinstalling studio is probably the easiest first try solution when it comes to problems. Alternatively, you could try CloneTrooper’s Studio Mod Manager found at this link to see if you can toggle some sort of flag, or maybe even downgrade your studio if the latest studio is causing issues.
I wish you luck with the issue!
