Roblox 'lagging' out when mousing over taskbar/title bar of window

Currently, when mousing out of the Roblox Player window, the engine will slow to a crawl depending on the complexity of the experience. This is similar to the effects of the game using less resources when the window is minimized, but this occurs even when the game is fully maximized and active on the screen.

This is an example of the experience “Flower Garden in the Clouds” with this issue. The effects are less severe here.

This is the experience “Royale High” which shows how severe the effects of this bug are. The player will turn into a slideshow.

This issue has not occurred until today. I have uninstalled any relevant programs that would’ve affected my experience (i.e Bloxstrap) and made sure to reset any changes made with Fast Flags.

Intel Core i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz, 16 GB ram, Radeon RX 580 series graphics card.

Expected behavior

I expect the engine to not lag out when mousing towards any other section of the screen and/or Roblox window.

I noticed this when tab bugging for a game but I thought it was just my server. I don’t even know how bugs like this happen.

You can disable Bloxstrap managing FFlags without uninstalling it.

Same bug is already posted here (misleading title though since it’s not just PS5)

Already reported, seems like an all around bug

Me and someone I have talked to are also experiencing this issue on windows 11. I have tested multiple roblox games and it is effecting every single one. I have also tested non-roblox games and they are unaffected leaving it to be a issue with roblox. Although the severity depends, some causing roblox to crash and other times just a slight freeze.

It activates under the following conditions:
Tabbing out of roblox (alt+tab)
Tabbing onto roblox (alt+tab)
Moving mouse off roblox window (other screen or hotbar)
Moving mouse onto the roblox window (from other screen or hotbar)
EDIT: Moving mouse onto the top white bar of the window
EDIT: Moving the mouse off of the top white bar of the window

Did it just in case lol

Oops, my bad, took it at face value cause of the ‘PS5’ in the title, too

Yeah but that isnt a bug report, so this is better

Having the same issue here, this started to occur after the most recent patch of Roblox. It seems to only affect the Roblox window, and nothing else; no additional resources are being used while the frames are dropping. Sometimes when you click out of the window, after a few seconds it will stabilize.

This bug at the moment is not just exclusive to Windows 11. I am experiencing it on Windows 10.

having this issue as well. im always playing in windowed mode and flip flopping between apps, thought it was just some background app but no.

Experiencing this issue as well, if needed I’ve captured a micro profiler of the incident. Happens whenever I alt tab out and into Roblox and creates a very jarring experience.

this happens any time i playtest in studio, doesn’t matter if my cursor is in the window or not.
my ping spikes to 2-3s and fps drops down to 10 or less

I’ve been getting this as well. The lag spikes can get so severe that it hard crashes the roblox player. Does not occur every single attempt, unless it got patched a couple minutes ago.

unless this patch is in waves, im still experiencing it. it seems to just depend on what’s currently in view when your mouse exits the window

Hey All,

Our team has resolved this issue, please restart your Roblox app to ensure the changes take effect.
