Roblox Player/Studio closing itself whilst in their installation process

I had this issue for nearly 2 months, but since I now got Member 6 days ago outta nowhere, I figured I’d report this in #help-and-feedback:platform-usage-support as I can’t report in #bug-reports obviously… Oh, and also I saw others reporting bugs in there as well so why not.

  1. What do you want to achieve?
To install Roblox Player and Roblox Studio, so that I am able to play Roblox and hop in Roblox Studio.

  2. What is the issue? Include screenshots / videos if possible!
    It all started with welll…this.

So I went ahead and tried to reinstall Roblox, but that only created MORE heck issues.
Now it’s not letting me install Roblox Player and Studio as it installs nearly at the end.
I do not have a video of this happening, however someone else has the same issue as I do.
Roblox closes when installing - Help and Feedback / Platform Usage Support - Developer Forum | Roblox
It’s the exact same issue I have.

  3. What solutions have you tried so far? Did you look for solutions on the Developer Hub?

  4. I tried putting the installer on administrator, installed it, nothing, same issue occurred.

  5. I deleted the roblox files in AppData, went back, and installed again, nothing new.

  6. I tried waiting for Roblox to fix it for nearly 2 months now. Nothing.

  7. I contacted Roblox Support, nearly a month later, still no response.

  9. I also tried restarting my laptop, but nothing new happened, same occurred.

  10. Tried redownloading the installer, nothing new happened.

  11. I tried downloading the Microsoft Store version of roblox, however as soon as I open it, it just closes itself immediately with no caution.

The only solution I found was downloading the games.lol version of Roblox, which is basically mobile roblox but you’re playing on an PC. It’s…realllyyyy laggy. Not suitable if I am an player of asymmentical roblox experiences.

I tried to look for more solutions on the Devforum [if that’s what you mean by Developer Hub]
…I am not sure I found one.

This is what my about device says [obviously removing some of the lines as I feel they aren’t neccesary]
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (11.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 10 Pro

Please tell me if I posted this in the wrong category or whatever the heck. I am fairly new to creating topics. :person_standing:

I managed to work around this by placing existing Roblox files from a friend into the AppData/Local folder. It’s also worth mentioning that Roblox actually started downloading itself when I did that, otherwise the installer was going through too fast

Nope, it’s broken again with the next update. Sigh

I actually tried your solution way earlier I forgot to tell ya. My bestie I trust with my life is a little dum dum, and she didn’t find the Roblox File in LocalAppData cause she didn’t have it. Sad.

Frustating to see it’s broken again within’ the next update.

Guess more play time on my phone. I still want to play on my laptop again, though…:'>
Oh, and gonna wait for the roblox engineers too.
