If it was happening on this platform, then us users would at least have more power of doing something about it than hoping if X popular ROBLOX youtuber makes a video about it.
Many ROBLOX developers are still teenagers. Their brains are still developing, meaning they aren’t always going to immediately make this connection (I’m not saying they’re unintelligent for this, this is just part of growing up. Everyone does this when they’re a teen.)
But social links are supposed to only be shown to 13+ users to begin with, so why is everyone concerned about “what about the kids?” when they shouldn’t even be able to see these links. Yes, they can lie about their age to be able to see them, but at that point, it shouldn’t be Roblox’s or the developers’ fault because they actively chose to circumvent safety measures.
I don’t think them lying about their age matters when it comes to this situation. They’re still children. Besides, you wouldn’t want to show these two infinite arguing websites to a 17 year old just like you don’t want to show them to a 12 year old; you’re getting them used to these horrid environments from a young age. I know a good majority of this site is in that latter age group, but keep in mind that all teens are still impressionable.
Everyone including me always complains about the kind of people who do nothing but argue about politics all day, so what do you do? You stop creating more people like that. And you do that by not funneling them into these terrible websites when they’re still young and their brains are developing.
