I just experienced studio disconnecting, never thought that was possible but wanted to add it, been 2-3 times now, as usual even if you have multiple robloxes, or in this case 2 studios, only 1 of them disconnects, just like the usual ping freezes it takes REALLY long to reconnect or just straight up boots you back to places screen and you can choose to reconnect
Thank you for posting your log here!
If anyone else experiences the issue where a log with DFLog::RakNetMissingPingPong appears, please post here or dm them to me.
From this log, it looks like decryption started to fail. This log means decryption failed 10 ms ago, and it could be a lead:
[DFLog::RakNetMissingPingPong] Decryption failed 10, ...
Just when are they going to fix this problem though? its been an issue for way too long
exceedingly rare instances of disconnecting while using mobile data, have only happened a handful of times
this made me keep restarting dead rails game over and over, its like the game is doing the impossible to make me lose and there would be moments where the game freezes and time travel me back to where i had came from. this also happens when i join the strongest battlegrounds where if i joined a server too fast it would freeze and disconnect me.
Thank you all for your patience on this issue. We have multiple user logs which point to decryption failures and are actively investigating a solution for that

I ran into an issue that was odd, maybe this might help if you want to take a look. It’s for our game Flawn Salon.
Still having this issue constantly on my client. It’s only on my PC (which is my only Windows device) but I cannot play a game for more than 5 minutes without it disconnecting with no warning, making roblox essentially unplayable. My wifi is quite slow, but I manage to play other online multiplayer games just fine.
This has been happening to me for the past few months in literally every single game, without exception.
I was playing combat initiation for an hour straight, and it actually had me in the server for a while. But that was around last month, and besides that, I’ve only met misfortune.
This is happening to me in every game as well. Weird thing though is that it seems to only happen on my router, whether it’s Wi-Fi or Ethernet, which means it’s probably an ISP issue.
Still though, I expect to at least receive an error message OR to be reconnected in someway, just like any other game outside of Roblox. I always have to check the ping in “Performance Stats” just to see if I really did get disconnected from the game, or if I see everyone walking in place.
It seems like this issue has only been happening for the past few months. Because before that, everything seems to just reconnect seamlessly during ping spikes.
Yeah other games like Minecraft have it be frozen for a few seconds before it reconnects you to the game. Sure, you’ve probably died by then, but at least you didn’t lose all your progress in your 1 hour long TDS match…
PlumJar’s told me that he’s working on a fix for it
Looking back at topic and the previous one I made related to this…it seems that this is a user’s problem. I’m not sure why Roblox games during 2018-2022 were able to last without frequent disconnections, but it has only happened so much in recent years.
I thought this was Roblox’s fault, but it’s my ISP (which is weird since many people regardless of what ISP are experiencing this).
In my personal experience and researching, the only reason why other games like CS:GO doesn’t disconnect often like Roblox does is because they’ve implemented a thing on the client and server side to immediately re-connect if they suspect the packet is not picking up. Could Roblox perhaps have had this mechanic before, but they removed it later on?
Yea the isp part of the problem is interesting since it’s not one specific isp. Could be that the issue is caused by the way roblox’s servers interact with certain isps and such. Wouldn’t entirely blame it on the isp since my isp worked perfectly fine and still does in all games except roblox.
Yes it’s definitely the ISP. I moved houses and now Roblox has this disconnection issue, at my old house it didn’t. Other Multiplayer games don’t boot me from the server if I lose even a second of connection like Roblox does.
for me, when this was happening, it was on verizon home internet
If this one is about “Windows username with non-english characters” too I’m gonna crashout. What about you all? Is there someone having same problem but Windows username is normal?
After updating to version 669 I’m now also getting DFLog::RakNetMissingPingPong
entries in logs whereas previously I only got DFLog::RakNetStoppedProduction
. I haven’t been able to directly trigger the issue but I have found a consistent way to setup the conditions for this issue to occur which may help with troubleshooting. Enabling one of the heatmaps in Retail Tycoon 2 results in a silent disconnection for me pretty much every time, though the time it takes to disconnect can vary from a couple of seconds to a few minutes (video)

I used this to get a microprofile dump at the moment the disconnection occurs and the frequency at which RakNetUpdate
fires increases significantly in the frames leading up to the first decryption failure (as high as 97 times in one frame), plus the specific RakNetUpdate
process that had the first decryption failure took at least 3x - 10x longer to “complete” than the others. I’m unsure if this is normal or not as I haven’t seen many other microprofiles involving large volumes of data transfer but it seems it could be relevant/useful in this issue regardless:

Not sure what you mean or how that would be related to this problem but my windows user has only english characters
