Roblox trades indefinitely stuck at processing

FWIW, since this is the developer forum, you should not expect to be kept closely up-to-date with anything non-developer-related. Trading doesn’t intersect with development, so if they keep you updated here vs. support requests, it’s a courtesy more than anything. For these customer-facing issues it is better to start out with Roblox support request.

Sorry if I was being unclear. I meant that Roblox should make an announcement on their official site, not on DevForums. For example, they could create a blog post, or perhaps add a warning in the trade tab.

I hope that was more specific, but I agree. There’s no point in Roblox making an announcement here about the bug if it’s trade related.

Roblox should bring Normal Forums back.

There’s too many bugs on Roblox and Average Roblox Player’s should know about bugs with Forum Posts and Topics.

Like there’s a dangereous Trade Glitch/Scam on Site but too many people didn’t know or heard about it.

Roblox should do something about Website Bugs or Some people will do big deals about Roblox. (I’m just saying it)

I think despite the fact that this is a developer forum, this is really the only access point we have to hear anything of value about things like this. Customer support either cannot or refuses to provide information from engineers that this stuff is actually being worked on. There are enough people out there who use the trading system to warrant this being fixed ASAP. People have been waiting for months, with the same response from customer support that there is no ETA for the fix but it is supposedly coming. I think it is very foolish of Roblox to keep the trade system running as is with a bug with problematic existing. They literally give the bug abusers multiple opportunities to steal from other users and then people like me have to sit for months with no restore. We know Roblox has a restore feature for compromises, so to see that we are being neglected for a bug that will seemingly not be fixed any time soon is super concerning, and I think it deserves an amount of attention on the only platform we really have to express our concern.

I mean this is a subforum for website bugs, no? Any website bug posted here even if not closely related to developing should be tended to. Trading is a selling point of premium to an extent. It should be safe, Roblox cares a whole lot about safety don’t they? The only reason I want to hear more information is because this has been an issue for multiple months, and people have sent support tickets for this since last summer, and we have yet to see a fix.

It’s fine to post it here, my point is that communication on non-developer-related issues here should be seen as a courtesy from DevRel / engineering teams, not as a given.

These DevRel teams have limited bandwidth and so as a developer I wouldn’t want issues that don’t affect developers to be taking away valuable communication time from issues that do affect developers. There are other channels for those issues that also allow you to reach people who can fix the issue. (customer support, which it looks like you all already filed tickets, so just wait for the resolution from that side of the company)

I understand this, I guess I’m just disappointed in communication options in general. I guess it’s more of a traction thing, where I wish more people were concerned about this so potentially they would put more engineers onto fixing this, thus I want to share the issue with any possible outlet. I guess what I’m looking for is pressure as opposed to information out of this forum post. I don’t necessarily need to know exactly what’s going on, but if there was more concern about it they might work on it faster. I already know that the trading system is low priority, so I can only assume because of low priority and low demand to fix it, even though it is a big issue, it gets neglected.

No amount of support tickets on the issue seem to amount to anything, so it’s more of an “I hope some staff member understands this is important too” thing.

@Hippie_ofDoom @MisterGreenTurtle Is there any update? Because the items still missing after 2-3 months and players losing their hope about the missing items and trades was completed about like 2-3 months.

Also the trade glitch is still not patched and going around website.

Nearing 3 months with no further updates, frankly baffled by the radio silence on this one.

Same here. approaching 2 months with no updates and no item restore. It is really stressful that there is no outlet to hear what the progress on this issue is. Not even customer support is able to provide an ETA still.

I’m counting too, been almost 3 months!
I’ve opened 3 tickets and still no solution to my issue from Roblox Support.

It can even be hardly seen that they actually read what I write as they first thought I wanted to reset my password (although I’ve been clear on the issue).

The question that comes to my mind is for what and why are we paying for premium when Roblox can’t deliver a safe service of trade transactions. This is a robbery from my point of view taking the item and not returning it for 3 months.

Roblox Support keeps replying for 3 months with “our engineers are fully aware of and working to fix this issue as quickly as possible”. Been 3 months no updates no steps taken towards fixing it, and just as a matter of fact when I got hacked it took them a much shorter time to return my items.

This brings me to the second question why don’t they just immediately return the item instead of wasting time and waiting till this item gets tossed around a dozen times between players.

Overall, it’s really just depressing and sad how Roblox Support is handling this situation and it seems like they aren’t even doing anything towards fixing the issue.

I agree. I’m wondering why I can’t just be restored my items just like you would if you were compromised. The items were literally stolen from me, I should not have to wait for this bug to be fixed in order to have my items back. They hold value, I need access to them.

Sorry for replying to such an old post, but I just ran into a loosely related issue like this TODAY. I had traded off the swordpack seen in the pending trade about 30 seconds prior to accepting the one shown as pending. I accepted just for the fun of it, thinking it wouldn’t go through.


After I accepted I checked my declined trades expecting it to show up as “Rejected due to error,” it wasn’t there! The trade was under the outbound tab for around a minute or so, until it was gone. Never did the trade appear under either the completed or inactive tabs.


After all this, I still somehow got the item being offered by the other user, and they do not have it anymore. Here it is visible in the 3rd party trading site, Rolimons, and on the item page on the Roblox website I own one copy of the item. I can even wear it!!

TL;DR accepted a trade for fun knowing it wouldn’t go through, but accidentally took the other persons item while they didn’t receive any items

The incident is now 3 months old, items have not been restored to my account, while the problem seemingly no longer exists. Support cannot provide an ETA for a fix yet and it is becoming increasingly frustrating to have my items locked away like this.

Today, on 6/25, I was finally given my items back. It was a very long time, but I’m glad that I have finally received them. I cannot speak for everyone, but I believe restores are about to be coming in. I surely hope this isn’t just for me.

June 12th. I emailed on a monthly basis. They had never said in response to my latest email that they’d be restoring me any time soon though, so it was a surprise.

That’s great that people are starting to be restored the items they’ve lost from this trade system bug.

Although, not everyone has been restored yet. So it’s safe to assume that if you haven’t been restored the items you’ve lost, it’s best to contact Roblox support to update them about the issue.

Also if you’re worried that this restoration may count as a rollback that’s not a problem, I’ve heard that this won’t count as a rollback, since it was a technical issue on Roblox’s part.

The email I received regarding them restoring my items did not mention a “one-time courtesy” like it normally would. Rollbacks are strictly for compromises. If items are lost by the means of a bug (like this), it doesn’t count as a rollback. Thanks for bringing that up.
