I’ve contacted support about the issue of users not receiving items they are trading for and losing their own in the process and they claim there are engineers working to solve the issue without causing any unintended issues in the process. I’m not really sure how reassuring this is, as I’m still missing a lot of my items and they have also said they have no timeline for when it will be fixed. Judging by how low the trading system is on Roblox’s priorities list, I fear this is going to take a very long time, even though it’s a super problematic issue. Roblox also chooses to keep the trading system active while this bug exists, only generating more cases and likely extending the time it will take for any sort of bug fix to come through. Considering this bug has existed for months, I’m very concerned about the progress being made to fix it.
I got uuc scammed today for my only limited and contacted roblox and they told me they are working on it but by the looks of it I have no clue if this will be resolved soon, please just fix this and restore the lost items.
No clear indication that this is being worked on effectively, very disappointed in the response to this problem considering how severe it is to some players.
Trade was completed on 3/22/21, never received the items I was due and lost all of mine. Almost 2 weeks later I have received nothing from support yet and after months of this bug existing it still has not been patched. I don’t feel ensured that this is being fixed, as support says that “our engineers are aware of the issue and are working to fix it”, though this issue has persisted for months.
It’s kind of embarrissing this issue has been a thing for months now without Roblox doing anything to fix it, especially when this is one of Premiums selling points. I really doubt it’ll be fixed soon though, considering trading (and limiteds as a whole) being so low on Roblox’ priorities list.
A staff member has stated that it will take about 3-4 months latest to restore the lost items.
Jeez.
That’s atleast better than no items, I hope this doesn’t count as a rollback though.
Yes… they have been saying to me for a month now that “their engineers are working at it”. And here we are after months with nothing isn’t its cool?
I dont think so, you were not scammed and its not a rollback. Since you’ve lost your items due to Roblox’s cool and amazing trade system. You’ve completed the trade and did not receive the items, then how is it a rollback when you haven’t received the items in first place…
Rollbacks are reserved for compromises, and since this is a bug on Roblox’s part I don’t think it would count. At least when users do roll back their items from compromises, it takes probably around 2 weeks to get your stuff back. This is a very extended amount of time to wait, especially when I’m not the one at fault whatsoever. The unclear timeline for this issue just has me sitting here potentially waiting months for a restore.
I feel a constant need to return to this thread since I am not a regular and cannot submit a formal bug report so I do not know if this is really being looked into. It has been a full month since my incident and I have heard absolutely nothing of progress towards this being fixed nor have I been restored my items. The silence around this issue is becoming increasingly frustrated and as far as I know, this bug is still not fixed and only adding more cases to the pool of lost items.
I wish there was a thread on this forum actually dedicated to this issue so that it would gain a little more traction, I feel like the severity of the situation is being undermined because it is the trading system which is a low priority for Roblox. I would feel somewhat relieved if a staff member could clarify this is actually being fixed on here…
I’ve came to this thread a countless amount of times and I just hope and hope one day this will get fixed. UUC got me in January and nothing has really happened since, it was my only limited as I had just finished an upgrade trade. Feels bad that Roblox doesn’t make this gamebreaking glitch a top priority.
I’m sorry that you’ve been waiting since January. That’s like three times as much as I’ve waited and I’m already super frustrated. I have not been able to get an ETA for when this will be fixed and considering this has existed for months I simply do not trust that this is being tended to in the way that it should. This problem is so infuriating and they are only allowing cases to increase and delaying the fix.
If you are a dev forum regular reading this post, please submit a formal bug report that discusses how users are not receiving any items in trades and as a result losing the items they had as well. Even though the trading system is a low priority, this is affecting a decent portion of people and it hits hard considering some people have been waiting for months for compensation and have been met with nothing. I simply do not believe this will be tended to if there is not enough outcry for it because of the low priority of this system, even though it is a very unsafe bug. Feel free to use my example in the report, please let this be known and fixed ASAP:
Glad to see I’m not the only one dealing with this, been waiting on my items back since the 22nd of February. Written them off at this point.
I fully agree with this. There have been no statements or official announcements released regarding this issue, nor has Roblox made an attempt to spread awareness about this issue on their platform. It almost feels as if this issue is being swept under the rug.
At least it’s nice that Roblox clarified in support messages that they’re currently resolving this issue, however it’s a bit frustrating when there’s no exact ETA, meaning it could potentially take up to a few months or even a year.
I hope Roblox acknowledges this issue more, and tries to make an attempt to notify players about this bug. The only reason most people are aware of this bug is due to trading communities spreading awareness.
FWIW, since this is the developer forum, you should not expect to be kept closely up-to-date with anything non-developer-related. Trading doesn’t intersect with development, so if they keep you updated here vs. support requests, it’s a courtesy more than anything. For these customer-facing issues it is better to start out with Roblox support request.
Sorry if I was being unclear. I meant that Roblox should make an announcement on their official site, not on DevForums. For example, they could create a blog post, or perhaps add a warning in the trade tab.
I hope that was more specific, but I agree. There’s no point in Roblox making an announcement here about the bug if it’s trade related.
Roblox should bring Normal Forums back.
There’s too many bugs on Roblox and Average Roblox Player’s should know about bugs with Forum Posts and Topics.
Like there’s a dangereous Trade Glitch/Scam on Site but too many people didn’t know or heard about it.
Roblox should do something about Website Bugs or Some people will do big deals about Roblox. (I’m just saying it)
I think despite the fact that this is a developer forum, this is really the only access point we have to hear anything of value about things like this. Customer support either cannot or refuses to provide information from engineers that this stuff is actually being worked on. There are enough people out there who use the trading system to warrant this being fixed ASAP. People have been waiting for months, with the same response from customer support that there is no ETA for the fix but it is supposedly coming. I think it is very foolish of Roblox to keep the trade system running as is with a bug with problematic existing. They literally give the bug abusers multiple opportunities to steal from other users and then people like me have to sit for months with no restore. We know Roblox has a restore feature for compromises, so to see that we are being neglected for a bug that will seemingly not be fixed any time soon is super concerning, and I think it deserves an amount of attention on the only platform we really have to express our concern.
I mean this is a subforum for website bugs, no? Any website bug posted here even if not closely related to developing should be tended to. Trading is a selling point of premium to an extent. It should be safe, Roblox cares a whole lot about safety don’t they? The only reason I want to hear more information is because this has been an issue for multiple months, and people have sent support tickets for this since last summer, and we have yet to see a fix.
It’s fine to post it here, my point is that communication on non-developer-related issues here should be seen as a courtesy from DevRel / engineering teams, not as a given.
These DevRel teams have limited bandwidth and so as a developer I wouldn’t want issues that don’t affect developers to be taking away valuable communication time from issues that do affect developers. There are other channels for those issues that also allow you to reach people who can fix the issue. (customer support, which it looks like you all already filed tickets, so just wait for the resolution from that side of the company)
I understand this, I guess I’m just disappointed in communication options in general. I guess it’s more of a traction thing, where I wish more people were concerned about this so potentially they would put more engineers onto fixing this, thus I want to share the issue with any possible outlet. I guess what I’m looking for is pressure as opposed to information out of this forum post. I don’t necessarily need to know exactly what’s going on, but if there was more concern about it they might work on it faster. I already know that the trading system is low priority, so I can only assume because of low priority and low demand to fix it, even though it is a big issue, it gets neglected.
No amount of support tickets on the issue seem to amount to anything, so it’s more of an “I hope some staff member understands this is important too” thing.
