It had a bug where you would hit the Set up button, it would publish a model under your account (easily visible by looking at the toolbox, my models tab in studio),
but you would get an HTTP Error: OK in the console, and the set-up would fail, however the basic mesh would still be published as a copy under your account
One of those many models that the avatar setup published under my account was struck by moderation as “Sexual Content” ; and there was no way of me appealing it, I tried explaining it in the ticket that it was one of many more identical models that were otherwise OK, but my appeal was still denied.
It’s a horrible thing that using a Studio feature can get your moderated without you being at fault.
I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong here, there could be a lot going on in the background, so I think it would be better for you to send an appeal and get your response that way.
Just want to provide an update on this issue and apologize once again for all the confusion and headache caused to many of you
There was a bug in our moderation system that incorrectly moderated a large number of assets in a short period of time causing additional bans including account terminations. The bug has been fixed and assets and accounts have been restored.
Please, post here and/or DM me if you are still affected by this issue.
Im not sure if anyone else had this issue however I was moderated again for a second time for things that were already moderated during the whole ban wave. Its affected 2 of my accounts and caused 1 of my accounts to loose its uploading perms.
This happened to me and roblox re-deleted 4 items that have been deleted for months, the items were already deleted when they got moderated again, luckily support said
“This moderation action will not negatively affect the account in the future. The circumstances of this moderation action will be reviewed to improve our moderation process.”
Can I get help too? 2 assets were unfairly removed (they weren’t layered clothes) during this ban wave, without giving me a reason and without the possibility of automatic appeal and the Appeal Team never responded to my appeal (Roblox Support Ticket 108446371 and Roblox Support Ticket 108429821), asset IDs are 96662213650885 and 97152185667478. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter, I would appreciate it.
I had aura arm-sleeves under the Jacket category that were affected by this. The mesh for it was moderated which deleted all of its [12] color variations.
First of all, thank you for those that reached out and provided additional details on the accounts and assets moderated.
I would like to provide an update on this issue:
All creators impacted from this had their account bans reversed during the escalation, so those bans should not be reflected in the accounts by the end of the month.
Regarding the assets, unfortunately, due to the timing when this issue took place (i.e. over the holidays) the automated refund process already kicked in for many of the items and we are unable to reverse it. I’m sorry a manual reversal is no longer possible and we won’t be able to restore the assets.
Please, keep in mind that the majority of these assets have been identified as no longer passing the new cage validation checks we have put in place to improve the overall quality of layered clothing assets in the platform. We had no intention to take them down before reaching out to you, their creators, and help you update their cages, similar to what we did late last year updating grip attachment orientations. We are really sorry for the headache and confusion this has caused.
Some of you already reached out asking for information on how to fix the cages. I will follow up with all of you involved in this incident with this information.
Hey @Headpets and all other creators impacted by this issue,
You will be able to re-upload the assets as long as they pass the new cage validation checks listed in the DF announcement (thank you @Director for adding the link to it).
We strongly recommend that you wait a bit until all new cage validations are deployed to production.
This is planned to happen by the end of this month. Our main goals are:
We want to notify all creators of existing assets that will no longer pass cage validation about these new changes. We want you to successfully produce new assets that will pass all validations.
We are producing a video tutorial going over best practices (in addition to the expanded documentation already published) to help you understand what you need to do to fix issues.
We are producing new documentation on ALL validation checks to provide full transparency to all creators on the limits and thresholds used, as well as suggestions on how to fix issues if you your asset don’t pass a specific validation check.
Based on your feedback, we will update the documentation and add more examples as needed.
Please, bear with us as we go through this transition phase. Thank you so much for your patience and again, sincere apologies for the headache and confusion caused by this issue.
Will we get banned again (I hope not) for uploading items that met the previous criteria? The law shouldn’t be retroactive, I can understand deleting items but banning users is not right. I don’t even know how to count the number of coplanar triangles in a model but I know that Roblox Studio somehow verifies it. Simply the fact that the creators were banned because the criteria changed and that Roblox Appeal Team didn’t respond to any of my tickets (so I felt ignored and left without help and without a word of explanation) gave me a feeling of uncertainty in this platform and made me realize how easy it is to suddenly lose everything here.
I have been having this same issue affect me too. It started several weeks ago, all with layered clothing. After having a couple accessories removed I had my ability to upload any accessories revoked. After pleading to moderation for several days I got it back. 1 day later I had another layered clothing item removed and my “access to avatar item creation” is now revoked again.
Just got a notification from the moderation team that accounts that have been banned are now restored to their normal state. This should certainly be the case for all of you that DM’ed me with additional information.
Please, if you are still having issues with your account, send me a DM so I can help.
