Robotic Arm using Inverse Kinematics & Guis

Hey there,

Its been a day since I started experimenting with Inverse Kinematics. I really like it so far, and the most basic thing everyone starts with is, a robotic vine/arm! So here it is, a Robotic Arm made with Guis!

Feedback, suggestions or questions are always welcome!

Here’s the game if you would like to test it out. Move your mouse to move the arm. Hold onto circles to move them.

This is epic! Question: would this ever work with multiplayer?

Question 2: Will you make an ragdoll game with this? like an ragdoll game where you play with an ragdoll, and you could spawn things! you sir are epic.

Not with the handle [but could be used for something cool with it] like an ragdoll character that u can play with with ur mouse

I don’t plan to make it a game, since it isn’t a game, its just a simple showcase of my work that I’ll keep safe with myself and may use it in future projects.

Oh okay, but. you could do alot of things with it, sad you wont make an full game with it, if you ever decide to that’ll be epic, like minigames for arcades, etc. anyways, how did you even do this anyway?

edit: and will there be ever. an basic open source for the physics?

Just about experience. I have been using Guis to make my games for 6 months now. I read this wikipedia page for more knowledge and information about Inverse Kinematics, understood the math, and then applied the same to Guis.

I created those bouncy circles 2 weeks ago, just reused them.

Just saw your. profile thing! so this is going to be an open. source thing. sometime?

Absolutely, I was going to use this to make a 2D Mech, similar to dthecoolest’s 3D Mech using IK. I am no where close to the complete result, it’ll take weeks for a working 2D Mech. Lets not clutter this topic with 1 on 1 messages, if you want more information, you can PM me.
