Yeah! I appreciate that ROBLOX made such a great event! Even though I cannot come because I live in a different country, I still motivate Developers who can, to join the RDC 2020 Event!

I am worried about the future of this event. With the new COVID-19 (aka Coronavirus) going around, most events are cancelled. I am worried that the event will be cancelled as a result to keep people safe and healthy. What will Roblox do to address this, and how will they be able to do so? Also, how will Roblox work with local governments on this?

Dude don’t worry Roblox will probably arrange something in relation to the coronavirus, but for now let’s think positively for the RDC 2020!
There really isn’t much Roblox can do if the virus persists until late July. Symptoms don’t show for up to 2 weeks, which is why it’s almost impossible to screen for every case at the entrance. Developers from all over are coming to this event, so you could imagine the implications of bringing the virus back to their homes if they contract the virus at the RDC.

Not only does is cost a fortune to rent out the hotel for an event like this, everyone / everything involved would have to be transported somewhere else. All the posters, cardboard things, souvenirs etc. RDC is hosted only a few minutes away from the Roblox HQ.

Gosh, I can only imagine the cancellation of RDC leading to one of those Facebook VR situations where we are still quite kind of “there” in a way.

COVID-19 appears to have closed public events in Sweden, after one death and 500 confirmed cases. Apparently, if the disease and the virus remains for the upcoming months, it may be a problem.

It could be a threat as well to RDC.

We will see how it evolves. If they decide to extend it, it might be a problem.
It has been my dream to go to RDC, but unfortunately I was not invited, I wish luck to all of the users that were invited and are going to RDC 2020! Go Roblox!

They’re still inviting people. They have 3-4 waves of invites and then they do applications if there’s enough of tickets left.

Oh, do you know the requirements for the application or no? Anyways it sounds cool to go to RDC, but honestly it may be cancelled due to COVID-19.

It’s not cancelled, they’re monitoring the situation. Stop spreading misinformation. For the requirements, you need a portfolio and a really good reason to go.
