Schedule When Your Avatar Items Go On and Off Sale

Hi Creators,

Starting today, you can now schedule when your avatar items go on sale and off sale. As we first announced earlier this year, scheduling will allow creators to set up automated time-limited drops, making publishing and selling much easier.

Previously, creators had to manually update item availability. With this new feature, you can:

  • Set a specific date and time for an item to go on sale up to 30 days ahead of time.
  • Schedule when an item goes off sale.
  • Use this for both Limiteds and non-Limiteds. Non-Limited items are unlimited in quantity but can be limited by time.

This option can be found next to the “On Sale” toggle in the Configure page of avatar items.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out, and be sure to check out our Docs site for more information.

Thank you!

Well at least it’s a good thing for the people who are eligible to do this. It seems like a great idea… especially for an event like “The Hunt: MEGAMILLIO- I mean MEGA EDITION”

Seems like a good small improvement

Great news for UGC creators! I don’t get it why people are so negative about this . To give credit, Roblox does make good updates here and there. One question, are the on-sale and off-sale dates visible to the public?

I don’t either, but it’s Roblox, so…

Future update feedback - Read if you want, really small QoL thing I would love; not related to this update

Not related to this topic - this is feedback for future updates;

I’ve had a really random thought lately (shower thought) where we could add custom dates to our analytics charts to display. For example, below:

Release Phase Date
Alpha Release 2024-04-15
Beta Release 2024-07-01
Version 1 (v1) 2024-09-10
Version 2 (v2) 2025-02-20
Version 3 (v3) 2025-08-05
Version 4 (v4) 2026-01-15
Version 5 (v5) 2026-06-30

We could add “Beta Release” as a custom date to instantly go back to that, and then we could set “Version 5” as a seperate field

Just a QoL update I would love, but yeah

This was so random, anyway back on-topic

Nice small update, I’m also going to suggest automatic-publishing (please  ) aswell as my previous suggestion above.

EDIT: Auto-publishing has many benefits. You can do this with open-cloud features but having it baked into the roblox creator dashboard (or anything like that) would be nice.

As AI would like to put it

Here are some simple features and benefits of implementing automatic date publishing in Roblox:

  1. Scheduled Updates: Automatically release game updates, events, or content on specific dates without manual intervention.
  2. Consistency: Ensures updates are always published on time, improving player trust and experience.
  3. Global Time Zones: Handles time zone differences, releasing updates simultaneously for all players worldwide.
  4. Automation Efficiency: Reduces the workload for developers, allowing them to focus on creating content.
  5. Event Coordination: Perfect for timed events or limited-time offers, like holiday-themed updates or special promotions.

Hello ! i would like to know if it’s possible for a future update to be able to use this setting to also make a limited item automaticly after an on-sale period, so anyone can purchase the item for like 2-5 days and then it turn limited after a month of being off-sale

Friends of mine will love this! Happy to see more features brought to UGC creators :slightly_smiling_face:

“EXPIRES IN 1 DAY FOREVER” kind of spam, maybe.

That’s not really abuse though, since this can already be done.

Couldn’t agree more :100: Imagine that you had to make items off-sale manually, not being able to schedule it.

Will this be kept separated from other api’s? As in would this break if roblox had one of there weekly blips, I don’t want a time limited item to be available for a few extra hours just because some unrelated service went down.

This seems like a great feature for people who decide to make timed/sale items.

Would love to see something like “Timed Publishing” so we can determine when our items are published as well. Great improvement for limited time sales though.

Kinda confused by a post but good update anyways!
I wonder if we will get more UGC updates very soon , such as dynamic fee change for free ugc limiteds .
I mean, we are waiting for that for almost a year now…

This is a great update!

Hope the same can go for events, gamepasses and products in the future (go onsale/offsale at a specific time yearly). It would be useful for seasonal items and other cases.
