It doesn’t matter if its a model or not.
These games have existed for years now. How can you compare a drawing system to a screen sharing system? drawing is 2D, Screen sharing is 3D.
Well then hats off to you if you decide to put it in your game LIVE in which you are responsible for action, OP isn’t.
Screen sharing isn’t 3D, what are you talking about.
A drawing system uses a grid of pixels.
A screensharing system also uses a grid of pixels to render the RGB values on.
Please know how his system actually works before assuming things as I can guarantee it’s pretty simple.
That’s like saying you wouldn’t get in trouble for uploading a innapropiate model to roblox, instead the developer who puts it in their game gets in trouble
Again, it is not a model YOU have to manually implement it thus why YOU are responsible if YOU put in your game.
Well, this is going too far off the topic, You still cannot compare screen sharing to a drawing system
argue in DMS for now, this is making the thread too messy.
At least you helped my argument, You can get banned for using this as it can show bypassed models
It seems i’m only getting like 3 fps when running this. Is this normal? Even using ColorCompression is still slow.
What resolution are you using?
A bit of a follow up: I’ve fixed some things, well I added more things that try to keep the FPS more constant by measuring the time that functions take and then offsetting the wait time in between frames, it should now be a lot smoother. Hopefully that fixed your problem
I’ve made a commit on the Github, so try that version
Ah okay. Sorry for the late reply. I am using the default settings you use + colour compression. I’ll check out the new version now.
EDIT: Video playing is very jittery but screensharing is more consistent. However it is still quite laggy using the default settings.
DynamicImage is going to have a moderation system. Assumptions won’t save you from moderation. This is completely against ToS. Roblox won’t release a feature that allows developers to easily load images using that instance when there is an entire moderation system for images in place.
As much as I like this creation, advertising or good intentions do not matter in this situation, rules are rules, if moderators find out about this, your account will most likely get terminated for breaking the ToS for misusing the Roblox systems.
Ya exactly and also being able to screenshare NSFW is much more graphic than a drawing LOL
Dynamic Image isn’t released yet. and it probably won’t go through moderation because you simply can’t. DynamicImage are on there roadmap and set to release in late 2023
you can check it here: Roblox Creator Roadmap
under “create rich and lifelike worlds” expand it and you will find this:
- Mesh & Texture APIs - First step in a new era of creation where developers have direct access to meshes and textures in Lua. (Late 2023)
and by thinking about it there is no way it can go through moderation. there has been also some usages of DynamicImage just search for it.
Sorry for the late response, but does it work on a VPS?
And why is that? And what do you mean you simply “can’t”? You didn’t provide a valuable response to why they cannot add moderation to DynamicImages, nor did you provide proper proof, and you’re expecting me to search for something that I already have used deeply before with FFlags? The reason why there isn’t moderation for it yet is because it’s simply not released yet.
Let me help you out here, there’s no way Roblox will not add moderation to DynamicImages, and here’s the reason: safety. Trusting developers that they will always use this instance for good is like trusting the devil* for honest work. There’s simply no way that this feature won’t be abused and will cause many problems without moderation, including minors being exposed to inappropriate content. And Roblox being under COPPA and advertising itself as a safe platform for kids, do you think this will happen? They added a full-on ID verification just to play games with a little more maturity in them.
*: I don’t mean all of the developers on Roblox are devils or anything lol, just saying there are so many developers out there that will exploit this feature.
Unfortunately, looks like the forum staff is not going to take this one down anytime soon. I’ve already contacted them and they didn’t send me a valuable response.
Actually they might not add moderation to DynamicImages and restrict it to 17+ games as the platform has been shifting away from children for the past few years (removal of <13 advertising instead of adding a solution/workaround like most other companies, ID verification to use chatting features, age restricted games, etc.). Roblox complying with COPPA doesn’t restrict graphic DynamicImages as long as they restrict them to 13+, they also no longer advertise to children specifically anymore as they are trying to advance out of said market.
I also don’t understand why you would report this post, it’s great and if used like intended, it will not pose an issue. It is not possible for players to just join a game and start using this screenshare, they would have to download the server, start it, port forward it and then the developer would have to add the ability for them to be able to screen share using the IP and forwarded port.
This post is a resource of a model which violates the TOS for bypassing the image moderation
