Scripting body movement on a animated/rigged humanoid

Hi!
What I want to achieve is simple. I would like to script the eyes of a monster in my game to always follow the player.
I was just wondering if this is possible even when the eyes have been rigged to the head.
If so, what kind of rigs/joints should I use?
