Pretty straightforward: Whenever I select instances in ROBLOX studio, it freees the entire thing for like half a second. If I move my mouse at all during that time, it’ll behave as though I was clicking and dragging and move any parts I might have tried to select.
I’ve started having this issue today.
Repro is simple: Keep a Studio window open, work in it as you usually would for about 5-10 minutes, and notice how it gradually slows down.
System specs:
Windows 10, latest updates (obviously)
64 GB RAM
Hyperthreaded Quad-Core i7 @ 2.6 - 3.2 GHz
ROBLOX is installed on an SSD
I’m not able to notice any anomalies in terms of CPU/RAM usage or other system utilization when this happens. It just freezes and comes back a split second later, after moving a few things I didn’t want moved.
Seriously slow, unable to use it right now. Takes a second or two to select anything, opening scripts is insanely slow and moving things is hard to do at all.
-Windows 10
-32GB RAM
-6700K
-ROBLOX is installed on an SSD
-GTX 1080
(Not sure if any of this matters but ?)
UpdateToolbars typically takes some time after a click. That code is what updates the window to reflect selection changes (as well as other things). Do you encounter similar problems in an empty baseplate? This may be a symptom of a large number of parts as well.
There’s a noticeable jolt when selecting things on blank baseplate files that I don’t remember occurring before, although it’s significantly less jarring than on a file with stuff in it.
That tiny jolt has always been there, but typically on-click most users won’t notice it as they expect some brief delay. The large jolt is more concerning, but seems to be because of a large number of parts. Just to make sure, can you send me a video of this happening to you in a baseplate with Ctrl+F6 open as well?
Yea I’ve got a few plugins enabled. I don’t have another machine at my disposal but if you want, I can disable the plugins that show up in Plugin Manager and try it again.
