If you have a VR device installed and you try to play any Roblox game, assets will fail to load for that player. Scripts work fine but you can’t see anything on your screen accept normal parts. Unions, Meshparts, Decals, sounds, animations and textures will not load.
I’ve tried the following:
-Unplug device
-Uninstall SteamVR
-Uninstall Steam
-Uninstall Vive
-Uninstall ROBLOX
-Try on new computer account
-Try on new user account
-Turn off firewall
-Create firewall rule for Roblox
-Create firewall rule for Steam/SteamVR
-Contact Steam
-Contact Vive
-Contact Arseny and Kyle
At this point I have outruled everything and it is NOT a problem on my end. Whoever is in charge of VR needs to seriously fix this issue. I can’t play anything, I can’t test anything and I’m super frustrated.
It began when I installed my HTC Vive in December.
SteamVR launches every time I play a game. When I hit F9, everything is red.
If you could do some research on your end, I would appreciate it. I’ve done everything on mine.
Is this happening on all of your computers, or just the PC you’re using?
Are you sure nothing on your ISP is preventing it from loading content?
Are you able to access those urls from a browser (does it give you a file when you go to it?)
This has to be a problem on your end, but I’m trying to look into what else it might be based on what you’ve tried so far.
Positive it’s not my internet. I’ve been running Studio perfect.
I swear this is not something on my end. I’ve been running Roblox on this computer for months in 60+FPS and suddenly, when I install the HTC Vive, everything breaks. I can access roblox on my phone and even my parents crappy computer. This HAS to be something on Roblox’s end.
i had a smilar issue with loading assets that kept me from being able to start roblox studio. you should make another partition on your hard drive, move all of your important files you dont want to lose to that partition, and then factory reset windows on your original partition.
i dont think there’s anything else you can do… it’s a problem being caused by windows itself, not by roblox
if you want to be more safe (i don’t think it’s risky as you think it is though!! look into some things on drive partitions and wiping your OS while still keeping your files) you could move the files to a separate hard drive, then move them back once you’re done
you can make a new install of windows without risk of losing files just by creating a new partition on one of the drives and installing it there!! i’d try that first to see if it solves the problem
