First of all, the content on the developer forum isn’t strictly filtered like on the Roblox platform (COPPA and stuff, I guess).
Second, people under the age of 13 mostly aren’t developers. That would result into a big group of non-developers → more low quality posts
So in order for this to be a thing you’d need to go to the US Supreme Court. Which would cost a lot of money… Then try and convince them that COPA Law is in constitutional then if they revoke the law which I doubt. Then go to Roblox and bring up the topic again. Pretty much this won’t happen seeing as it’s a legal issue not another obligation to keep those under 13 out.
Ok. Users under the age of thirteen CAN join this forum. They can lie about age on sign up. I came into this forum after the application was removed, sometimes I think we should still have the application.
Here is what Roblox should do if it was possible for undearaged fellas:
• Application Process
• Restricted Categories (ex. Collaboration)
• Filter for them.
I saw kids with a lot of potential on Roblox. I was honestly helping a kid make a game, and i am really impressed on what he made.
Roblox simply can’t allow under 13 users since the devforum does not comply with COPPA. If you have a look at old posts in #development-discussion and #forum-feedback (and #lounge if you are a regular) you will see a lot of legacy content with mild swearing, and even today there is still some content with mild swearing. This would involve cleaning all of those occurrences, and we couldn’t be allowed to swear mildly in private categories anymore.
