Small & Invisible Avatars Wreaking Havoc on Games

No it doesnt. if i can see my avatar what is the problem? Currently literally any game I enter disables my avatar, if I were to see myself as myself and others see me as r6 there is no hitbox abuse or a discarded player choice

Making your character visible only to yourself while others see a set model is not a viable option because it creates inconsistencies between appearance and hitbox, leading to confusion and unfair gameplay. Even if you see your custom avatar, others might misinterpret where to aim due to the mismatch between what they see (the set model) and the hitbox associated with your avatar… you, as a small person in-game, would be wondering why you get shot all the time… what should rather be done is detecting a too small or even invisible avatar and rescaling it properly

EDIT: it would destroy the sense of individually in the game aswell. What is the point of having a custom character when your friends would just see you as a r6 character.

I was thinking more of a stopgap feature until they start detecting small and invisible avatars

There’s been many significant improvements made to the layered clothing system over the past year or so which have addressed a good chunk of this issue. Just wondering if you’re still seeing this in Jailbreak?

(Not an engineer, just a curious developer!)

Extremely common today. Felt like we had a quiet period there for a little bit.

Why is this still an issue?.. Roblox needs to handle UGC better.

Hi @Maxwell_Edison, we have improved UGCValidation to detect many problematic UGCs. If you are still finding these issues, please let us know.

All of these LCs that result in character replacement should already be failing validations, and tiny UGC bundles that use loose geometry or thin strings to artificially inflate their bounding boxes will soon also all fail validation. If LCs are causing problems in your experience, you can utilize our Avatar Settings feature to limit the clothing size. Setting this to 10 studs will remove all the invisible and tiny avatars from LCs.

In the future, you can expect all the existing marketplace assets that are problematic to be either fixed as part of our Catalog Update Campaign initiatives, or be taken off the platform.

Feel free to make another bug report or DM me directly if you are finding more UGC exploits.

Thank you for your patience!

I know this is only a temporary fix, but you should force players to wear r6 until you kind a better solution

This isn’t an option if your game was not designed with R6 in mind.
