SmartBone 2 - Simulated Physics and Collision solution for Bones

You can set the Inertia to 0 and turn the stiffness a bit up, and that should limit most of the movement.

In the next release rotation constraints are added which should prevent issues like this.

Hey, I seem to be having a issue with the colliders? Here’s a gif, any way you can help me out?

Thanks! It kinda worked, and with some re-animating the walk cycle I could get it to look good, but I’d rather just wait until the update releases and use rotation constraints lol

In the original SmartBone module, meshes that were too far away would snap to their original position and stay unanimated. However in the current module, the mesh will stretch instead of snapping to the original position. Is there a way to fix this?

This is fixed in the next release.

I apologise for the long wait on the next release, I’ve been caught up over the last few weeks and theres been quite the work load as for smartbone, this release will fix a multitude of issues and also will also deliver 4 new useful features two of which address long standing pain points, along with a complete re-work of the smartbone editor plugin.

Amazing work on this. Do you have a way of accepting donations outside of Roblox? I’d like to send you some cash without lighting 30% of it on fire

Unfortunately we have no official page for receiving direct donations, however you can send USD donations through my ko-fi page here

How would I fix this? When I look away or go in first person mode SmartBone just stops updating.

This should be fixed in the next release.

v0.3.0

v0.3.0 is finally here and brings 6 new features and 9 bug fixes.

Changes to the smartbone editor plugin:

  • Old presets are NOT transfered due to compatability issues.
  • Selecting objects now loads in their attributes, the most recently selected object will have its attributes loaded in and previous objects attributes overwritten by the most recent selection.
  • Per-bone attribute editing

(Both plugins now share a toolbar, you may have to leave and re-open the place file after installing the new plugins)

There is more to come for the plugin, a few features I couldn’t add due to time constraints, but in the meantime enjoy v0.3.0!

Thank you so much for this update! I got a result I am VERY happy with!

And to anyone who’s having the same problem as me: I put these two settings in the bones which are going to collide with the legs, and it worked wonders!

Just thought I should share my solution with you guys - but keep in mind it might not work for you

Now I’m going back to the development dungeon, bye
