INITIALLY DETAILING STEPS TAKEN TO PRODUCE RE-OCCURRING ERROR
(1) Windows key > Search “Roblox Stu…” > Press enter to run, launching progress bar shows and reaches this state:
(2) Pressing cancel on file explorer popup results in new interrupt dialogue box
(3) Pressing “no/yes” APPEARS to not change anything.
(4) Prompt closes and nothing launches.
Issue has been reported previously on separate sites, namely on reddit & even on the DeveloperForum. (Both since January of last year.)
ACTIONS WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN THIS PERSISTING ERROR
Similarly to the reddit post [POSTED JAN 2024], the OP had mentioned “a ton of work to my PC, cleaned most of my drives”, something I have also done - so the main personal theory is that while I was bulk uninstalling and clearing out redundant applications and files etc. I might’ve been blissfully ignorant and deleted a ROBLOX Studio dependency.
The next obvious step was to uninstall ROBLOX and ROBLOX Studio for a fresh installation, which failed to work. I restarted the computer multiple times and Uninstalled and Re-installed multiple times but to no avail.
Followed these instructions marked as a solution in the post here, but nothing fruitful came of it. Again, I followed all the OP’s instructions, multiple times but to no success.
Otherwise I ran ‘’‘sfc /scannow’‘’ in CMD as administrator, returned “Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations”.
Ran program “Run programs made for previous versions of Windows”, seemed promising when a message came up saying:
Issue was still not resolved
Running ROBLOX studio as administrator does not work either.
I am able to run ROBLOX player fine too.
Is there another official Microsoft software which I can run to ensure all standard build processes and applications that exist?
For clarity, here is the error message (listed first)
Exact error message received: “Studio.App.Settings.SelectFolderMessageBoxText”
Exact file explorer CD opened: “C:\Windows\System32”
Exact file explorer Topbar message: “Studio.App.Settings.FolderSelectionDialogTitle”
