Upon attempting to join a private server on particular devices via the private-server link; some users are met with a 524 error, preventing them from joining or even entering the queue. One of my close-friends is being deeply impacted by this bug, being unable to join private servers of YouTubers.
Notes:
The user has the “Who can make me a member of their private server” setting set to “Everyone”
The user is 13+
This issue is particular to certain devices / device-types; my friend is unable to join on their mobile device yet was previously able to join just fine while on their computer (they do not currently have access to their PC to confirm this is a case though)
This is a long-standing issue and is unrelated to the current mass reports of a partial Roblox outage
I am able to join via the same link that they are unable to; both of us are not friends with and are not following the private server owner
Hey, this is still an issue. For my team, QA testers cannot join any private servers for projects we’re working on, seemingly for permission issues (even with they have sufficient permissions). Myself and my studio’s manager can join the private servers just fine, but even when we make a new game to test the problem, QA testers still cannot join.
It’s pretty critical for us that this is fixed, so if there is any hint of progress that would be awesome
Edit: For us at least, seems to be an issue exclusive to private games, private servers work on public games.
Sorry for the very delayed response. Can you please have your friend (or anyone who was experiencing this issue) try again and let me know if this is still happening? I am unable to reproduce this issue on my end and wonder if some changes since the initial report may have fixed this.
@iGottic Thanks for sharing your experience - I think this would be a separate from the discord deep linking report of this thread. It seems more closely tied to this other report. As you mentioned it should only be for private games, as currently playing private servers on private games will require “create and edit community experiences” permission be granted from the Roblox configure community page. We may change this to use the creator hub “Playtest all group experiences” permission, but any updates will be posted to that other thread.
