Sometimes the 3D area is not shown when I press Play

This has happened in several places and has been happening for some time and has been almost constant.
I am editing a project and when I press play (F5) sometimes the 3D area is not shown.

As a workaround, I have to press the “Current Client” and “Current Server” to get the 3D area:

Does it render behind all windows locked to the top left corner of your screen instead? Ongoing issue if so.

No sure if I understood your question correctly, but the rendering happens, it’s just not shown, that is, the script works without interruption, but the screen is not refreshed correctly. Double-clicking the Client/Server button works around the problem.

I have also encountered this bug several times! Hope it gets fixed.

Another workaround is to adjust the studio viewport size by dragging the title bar a little bit. Client viewport may be unbound to handle the rendering right after entering the server.

We changed flags yesterday to address this issue. Can you confirm if this has resolved the issue for you?

The problem remains the same.
But, following @ProBaturay 's suggestion, I dragged the title bar to take Studio out of maximized mode and then the 3D viewport was shown.

OK we’ll keep looking. Thanks for the additional information - it’s helpful!

I have had this problem several times today with latest Studio updates.

This is the new normal for me, I just do the workaround now without thinking about it.

I would estimate this happens about 1 out of 10 times I play test.

As time goes by, bugs accumulate and developers have to create more and more workarounds… I already have several routines that, as you said, unfortunately we have to get used to them…

New versions of Studio are coming out, and this bug still exists…

We needed to flip a flag to activate the fixes that shipped in Wednesday’s release. This usually takes a short amount of time after Studio updates but there was an infrastructure issue that prevented it until this morning. But it is now turned on.

Please fully restart all instances of Studio, verify version 0.570, and let us know how it goes!

It is still happening:

Hmmm this is interesting as we’ve gotten confirmations from others that it fixed the problem for them.

Does resizing the window when this happens cause the viewport to appear?
Does the viewport update when you hit Stop?

Are you using any 3rd party Studio mods/hacks?

Also if you can share video of the issue happening, that may be helpful!

The problem has subsided, but it has happened 2 times today.

Yes

The 3D viewport just doesn’t appear, sometimes, when I press Play. When hit Stop, it always appeared.

I didn’t even know this existed. What for example?

There’s no way, because this happens randomly, and I only noticed after I pressed Play (or I used F5, I don’t remember, and I don’t know if that makes any difference in this error).

I don’t even know if this will help, but I’m attaching the log of the exact moment this occurred:
0.570.0.5700563_20230407T204159Z_Studio_7950F_last.log (75.9 KB)

After a 3rd time it happened:
0.570.0.5700563_20230407T203727Z_Studio_E282D_last.log (180.5 KB)

I appreciate the additional info! This does sound related to refreshing the viewport (and not docking). We have a second fix for this that should go live on Monday.
