Space Shuttle Rendition

General Overview
Basically a passion project to recreate the Space Shuttle Program with accuracy that pushes the limits of what Roblox is capable of handling. We’ve gotten a start from STS-1/9 and will continue to progress through each mission until STS-135. We’re currently revamping our entire system and rebuilding assets after several exploits have resulted in our assets being leaked. We’re using this as an opportunity to bounce back and not only freshen, but simplify and streamline our program for quick turn around. We’re planning on resuming our launch operations in November to begin with STS-41B.

LC-39A/B Revamp are still classified at the moment, but here’s a sneak peak of the pad from a distance:

About me
That’s another huge project. But it has to be useful in your game to be great. The future is quite bright waiting for you …

awesome creation. how is the shuttle built? What metod is used to make it so round using ony parts?

I’m assuming this isn’t parts, it’s most likely meshes.

It Looks like many parts in my opinion. Or many small meshes or unions

Wow, nice work! I really like the HUD view. Looks like the real thing from footage I’ve seen of the landings.

First 2 pics look like Wow, great modelling! Then you see the internals… blown away!!! But no, no, that’s not enough. Cap it off with thruster nozzles that can be aimed on a gimble. What the?! Too good.

You need to be proud of this, very extremely proud.

This is the coolest creation I’ve seen in a while. I’m actually jealous I’m not the one getting to script this. Epic work!

This is wonderful, and coming from an experienced builder, I can say that the detail is stunning
I immediately kept scrolling down just to find the like button, that’s how good this is.

This is probably one of the more realistic & detailed posts I’ve seen in a long time. How much time would you estimate has been spent on this? This looks incredible!

Holy…this is amazing!

Everything looks realistic-the controls, the shuttle itself, just wow.

Can’t wait for the other shuttles to be finished!

It’s taken from a 5,000,000 poly mesh. It’s broken down into about 200-300 segments.

Majority of the time has gone into the coding. There has been a significant amount of calculus and trigonometry involved in not only the Canada Arm, but also rendering the aerodynamic data and launch trajectory.

What the- I almost screamed at how good it was when looking through the post. Never seen anything like it!! Great -I mean REALLY great-build(s). I hope your project succeeds with succeed never seen before!! Plus I don’t really understand, is it supposed to be part of a game? Simulation? Just a project??

EDIT: Sorry just didn’t read through properly, Passion Project, but I hope it becomes more than that!

Are you using WorldToScreenPoint with frames to create that runway tracking?

Yes, and then I used a simple atan2 function to draw the lines.

Is this what people mean by rocket science, if yes then i 1,000,000% agree

This is a great space shuttle! I really like the flight characteristics. Keep up the work!
