Sponsored Experiences moving to Ads Manager

BUG:
Reproduction: Go to the official page of an experience you can edit. Select the “Sponsor this Experience” button

Expected behavior: I should be redirected to Ads Manager

Actual behavior: I end up on a blank page on the Roblox website.

subtly? i’d say roblox has been very vocal about getting the indies out. sneakily increasing devex rates over the years and the big sponsor meltdown, which was the last viable way for on-site advertisement, made that pretty clear.

Its more subtle than Roblox banning anyone who’s an indie dev.

I just received an ad credit refund…
Except all my ads have been paying directly by card.
Surely any refunds should come out of my pending USD balance not ad credits.
The ad credits I have received are below the minimum to run an ad, so this refund is entirely worthless to me.
It feels like a betting site that says “Woo you get 100 of free credit, oh but you have to spend money to use it!”.
Refunds either need to be applied in the format the ad spend was, or ad credits need to be usable to lower pending USD payments.

Can you still sponsor other group’s experiences?

As expected, new roblox feature simply doesn’t work correctly :joy:

Out of 5 campaigns so far, only 1 has actually somewhat shown results and even then it was a lower bid than the ones that didn’t LOL

Also doesn’t really help that there’s (at least from what i can see) little to no documentation on how the new system even works so it’s a free-for-all on figuring it out right now…

One that worked (somewhat):

Failed:

^ Plus 2 others, but you get the point.

At least they refund you whatever wasn’t used now

I’m having a hard time figuring out what the difference between daily and lifetime budget is. Can someone provide more information about this? And what is the best strategy so far with running sponsors?

My bid for that sponsor was 0.02 credits/play, which is equivalent to 5.7 robux/play.
The actual cost however ended up being 0.006 credits/play or about 1.72 robux/play.

Lets see how well this goes, lifetime ads. One immersive, one listed on sponsored.

Feedback:
Both new methods of sponsoring in my opinion are horrible compared to before.

End results:

lol its super buggy right now thats how, the 466k is the one time it actually worked as intended.

There are some serious problems with inconsistencies in the UI and in the documentation, for the new Ad Manager.

In particular, the documentation for the Bidding is in direct contrast to what is actually on the site.

The documentation for Bidding and Auction states:

When determining your bidding settings, bids are reflected as CPM (cost-per-thousand impressions).

The documentation is the only place that mentions the units are CPM.

But wait, it gets worse. Inside the Ad Manager, it refers to the units as 2 different things, CPP, and CPT. I’ve highlighted the inconsistencies in this screen shot:

Also notice, on this UI, it doesn’t say anything about this being a CPM (cost-per-thousand) - this says cost-per-play. A difference of three orders of magnitude might make a difference lol! How could one possibly guess the right answer to put into the box for their bid? It seems like this UI is broken because the tooltip refers to a cost per teleport, but that’s not applicable to the selected Sponsored Experience. Presumably that should switch to some other units when the radio button is activated. And if this is really in CPM, as stated in the documentation, it would be critical to mention that here! Or else please update the documentation because that’s super confusing.

Obviously it would have been best to make sure this UI was better thought out, and tested, and documented, before switching us over to this live, without any choice to use the old system. At this point all we can do is try to quickly fix how broken this is, and try to empower the dev to make the right choice with the correct units and UI without bugs, to execute the critical process of Sponsored Ad creation! So thanks for taking care of this quickly because I need to run a campaign and I’m blocked.

You need to place your max bid higher for the other ads.

Dude, this thing is SO buggy.

I can’t even run any sponsors period.

It isn’t fully fixed yet, the impressions are still pretty low

Disabled my ad at like $10 when I went sleep to pull in people at a better time and it’s stayed on overnight even when I disabled it. Thanks Roblox

Disabled it for a little again to see if it’ll keep charging me and it is…

10 mins later, still going
