Sponsored Experiences moving to Ads Manager

Completely agree. New system is horrendous. Spent around 120 credits (37k robux) for 400k impressions, shocking.

At first, I thought this was going to be a disaster, but it turned out to work very well. I even preferred it for some time, because I got more clicks than in the old system for the same price. Everything changed like 10 days ago, and since then it’s not spending the budget at all, I transferred 350 credits a week ago and I bought about 8 ads from it (each for at least 50 credits) and most of them don’t get spent at all, so I buy them over and over, and I have my money there and I can’t do anything with it.

this ad is about to end

during the weekend it’s a bit better, but only like 1/3 gets spent…

This wasn’t happening like 10 days ago.
Am I doing something wrong?

The same thing is happening to me as well. Yeah they refund it, but your money is stuck in there, you can’t get it from the ads manager, you can’t spend on ads, because you buy an ad for 30 or 50 credits and only a few credits get spent. So you basically lost your money…

Please correct me if anything is wrong.
To start off, these are just some ideas that I have, and there could be flaws in my suggestions, so please keep that in mind.

1 ad credit costs 285 robux.
The minimum bid is 0.01 ad credit per play.
Does that mean that you are forced to pay 2.85 Robux minimum per play? Before, with the old system, I would get millions of impressions and usually a CPP (Cost per play) of 0.8-1.5 robux. I don’t think there should be a minimum bid, or at least it should be low, like .25 robux per play. I believe Roblox also sets the default bid to like .1 ad credit, meaning some people pay 28.5 robux per play.

I think the minimum CPP should be lowered, and Roblox should incentivize people to bid small amounts per play. I don’t think this is a good thing for small developers with not a lot of Robux to advertise their games. The issue here is that there are a lot of great games that lack funding, and this is missed potential from the Roblox side if they are unable to advertise their games because of the high costs. In my opinion, Roblox should consider creating a system where ID-verified users get a free advertisement every week or so to promote their game in a new category, and if that advertisement does well, Roblox pushes it into the algorithm based on how well it does at monetary generation and retention and all these other factors.

I think having a promotion system that costs money alone is not good because Roblox misses out on games that could generate a lot of revenue if it had a shot at the algorithm. I think the monetary advertisement system should still exist, because it can be very good to push games, but I think Roblox should come up with some solutions for small developers that can’t afford the advertisement system.

Overall, my suggestions are to lower the minimum CPP (max bid). Lower the default CPP that gets displayed. Consider implementing a free advertising system for ID-verified users, where they get a shot to promote their game to the algorithm if it does well monetarily, retention, etc. Then push it more into the algorithm. I think having a free advertising system additionally could be very beneficial for Roblox because it could help promote games that otherwise wouldn’t have been able to be in the algorithm. And this, in return, would make Roblox money and the developers. The reason you have to pay for ads is to ensure that it doesn’t get spammed with people’s advertising and for you to prove that your game is serious. This is a good concept, but I think Roblox should experiment with different advertising systems.

Dear Roblox, please bring the old sponsoring method back. All devs are frustrated because it’s to expensive

0.8 or 0.15? I got 21 cost per play on my first sponsored ad, but then again… there were 100,000 impressions and 15 attributed visits…

This is what I noticed as well. In the old system my CPP could even be below 0.5 Robux when I was first starting to get popular. Later it rose to 1 and then 2 and a little higher than 2 Robux per play was where I was at before this new Ad platform was launched.

I agree that the units are prohibitively large. We need another order of magnitude, so the minimum bid could be adjusted to 0.001 instead of 0.01 ad credits. That will get us down to 0.2 Robux minimum CPP which would be somewhat comparable to the old system.

This Ad platform feels like a thinly disguised money grab from Roblox corp and as mentioned this is unhelpful to the small dev ecosystem. Let’s get this fixed, or at least can we get some feedback from a Roblox rep to tell us why the system seems so broken to so many of us? Can we expect any changes or improvements based on our feedback? Is it expected that we’re going to get a reduction in our ROI of 50% or more? In the end the ROI is really the most important factor and if it is expected that it is going to be more expensive, I think Roblox corp needs to be 100% transparent about that instead of letting us just figure out that our CPP is expected to go way up in this new mandatory system.

I regret not reading all of this before making an account. Can’t afford the Ad Credits robux-wise and now can’t remove my card.

Stuck linked to this monstrosity that makes being a small time developer impossible.

Does anyone know if there is a waiting period for being able to advertise new experiences? For example, can you publish a brand new experience and immediately run sponsored ads on it? Or do you have to wait a week or two after it’s published to advertise? Thanks!

why did they remove the old sponsor system for this
dumb and unnecessary and costly and just makes it hard for the developer

ok so "you can only buy a minimum of 10 credits!!! "
and then “oh you need 20 credits do be able to actually do anything”
stupid company cant do anything good for the people that make your money

and then you need minimum 40 dollars to actually do anything because david baszooki is a monkey that commits tax evasion

It is, I spent 2k+ robux on ad credits not knowing you need 20 to even advertise. So I would have to spend about $50 to advertise one game, this is terrible

Sponsored experiences were the only way i could get people to touch my games at all, now i have to put in my full legal name and address just to be let down by this stupid “ad credit”.

If I spend 5,700 robux to sponsor a game around how much visits will it get?

I think this speaks for itself. I really hate the Ad Manager and wish we could go back to our dear old sponsored ads. I’ve ran ads with it with LITERALLY THE SAME SETTINGS at like 2k robux and gotten better results. 7k impressions for around 30k robux is not a great change.

Like 100 at most… this new system is pretty bad

Well I got 400 in like 3 hours but then my account got banned for 1 day for tryna ban a hacker and the moderation note said that i was cheating, also my game is under review so I just lost robux. I had 30 concurrent players also. My sponsor ends in an hour and it was only up for 3 hours and then my game goes under review.
