State of Belmont

Roleplay community

Welcome to the State of Belmont!

We are a strict-RP community with application-based agencies. We have many openings, as well as private business opportunities. Our game is stable and receives frequent updates.

Additional information

Community

Our community is on multiple social networks, such as Discord and Twitter. You can find links to our social pages on the group/game page (forum rules limit us on what we can link to here).

For Discord, please ensure that your account meets the age requirements in your country. We take great care in protecting our playerbase and will remove any accounts that fail to abide by them.

Government and businesses

Unlike some roleplay communities such as Firestone and Mayflower, we do not host a player-run government. Instead, 2 Commissioners own and lead the community.

There are various Institutions you can join - Sheriff’s Service, State Police, Fire Service, Medical Corps, etc. These usually require experience in their respective fields, as well as applications and training where necessary.

There are also privately owned businesses, which are registered with the Bureau of Commerce. Common company types include security firms and food services. These are run by Citizens and the way to join one varies from company to company.

Rules

The full and most up-to-date RP rules can be found on our socials.

Section I. General roleplay policies

  1. The State of Belmont is a roleplay community. All player interactions should realistically reflect possible scenarios.
    a. Actions which aren’t represented with an animation must be roleplayed if they affect the situation (e. g. tackling another person to the ground);
    b. Ignoring valid roleplay actions is prohibited.
  2. Ambushing situations is prohibited. Examples of this include:
    a. Disturbing a hostage situation;
    b. Killing medical staff or patients on call;
    c. Moderators handling an investigation.
  3. Unjustified or random acts of violence are prohibited. Such actions include, but are not limited to:
    a. Unprovoked attacks on fellow players;
    b. Inflicting harm on others without a valid roleplay context or narrative justification.
  4. Players must obtain consent from others involved before engaging in demeaning and time-consuming roleplay scenarios, such as hostage situations.
  5. In cases of in-game conflicts, players are encouraged to engage in meaningful roleplay to resolve disputes or disagreements.
  6. Players who exhibit extremely toxic behaviour are punished.
  7. Players are disallowed from disconnecting, committing suicide, asking to be murdered or otherwise avoiding arrests via unrealistic manners.
    a. Players who murder others with the intent of avoiding arrest are also punished.
  8. Killing players as they spawn in (or in a short time interval after they spawned in) is prohibited.
  9. Using tools which exist in the game, but not in the player’s inventory, is prohibited.
  10. A player may not return to the location of their death immediately after, unless at least 3 minutes pass.

Section II. Law enforcement roleplay policies

  1. Law enforcement officers (hereinafter referred to as LEO), are not allowed to apprehend players on the basis of recognition (i. e. seeing somebody and knowing they’re a common criminal), unless:
    a. Their ID was mentioned on radio telecommunication channels;
    b. A BOLO has been issued for their apprehension;
    c. The LEO were involved in a pursuit with them.
  2. All exceptions in Paragraph 1. apply only if the time interval between the action and the apprehension was less than 60 minutes.
  3. LEO may not respond to the call their died at, unless:
    a. There are less than 3 LEO active;
    b. Three minutes have passed since their death.
  4. LEO are allowed to announce the location of their death, but not the ID of their murderer.
