Studio cannot update, cannot save, cannot browse experiences, and cannot open experiences from the creator panel

(This issue has been present for a few days)

When attempting to launch Roblox Studio, the program attempts to update to the most recent version. However, the update is unsuccessful 100% of the time and prevents me from accessing the program, likely because of a malformed header. Below is the error log produced in Studio Mod Manager.

Using mod manager, I instead revert to a previous version of Studio. Initially this worked, but now I am experiencing issues similar to this and this. All of these issues happen on different devices and for many other people.

I also cannot browse my experiences in studio. Any time I go to a group’s or my own game list, I am greeted with an infinite 3-dot loading screen instead of the game list. I’m unsure if this is connected to the previous issue of the increasing frequency of days where I also cannot browse experiences in studio unless I restart studio 5-10 times.

The only thing I can do in Studio right now is open a blank baseplate or other template and edit that.

THIS ISSUE IS CRITICAL AND NEEDS TO BE PATCHED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Post-note: This issue seems to be specific only to some users, but it’s enough of the users to be considered critical.

Are you sure this is not just an issue with the mod manager? Have you tried using Studio outside of the mod manager?

I can’t manage to reproduce this.

Good question, this was worth asking! To clarify, I have this issue even without mod manager.

Some developers can’t seem to reproduce this, which makes it exponentially more difficult to gather outside evidence. That being said, and increasing number of my associates seem to be finding some or all of the problems listed in this post.

Update: I can now sometimes access Studio by restarting it a few times. In order to do so, I have to revert to a previous version using mod manager.

For me it did not occur but, my tabs position resetted and now it is messy again. It is neither saving the changes.

Add [roblox critical] to the title of the topic if you feel it is critical. (Remove the space between “roblox” and “critical”, I can’t post the word)

I have not experienced this issue, but for the past few months, studio will “Install” instead of “Update” when a new update is shipped. This leaves studio in a weird state and sometimes I need to restart it a few times to get it working (though it has recently happened less with newer updates). Once during this time, my layout was corrupted, where the home tab would hide the menu by default, and you need to double click it to open it again every time studio starts. Deleting the registry key fixed that issue for me though (I tried Reset View; it did not work for that one at the time).

I’ve had this issue too. Sometimes I play a Roblox game while I’m waiting. It usually takes 20 minutes to load, but it randomly will actually decide to load faster when it wants to. Once studio starts up, I am only greeted with about a dozen of experiences, not all of them I have. It does not load more until I click refresh, which takes 20 minutes to load (unless I’m lucky). To work around this, I click the refresh button, wait a minute, and if it doesn’t load, I click it again. It usually takes 5-12 button clicks before it loads.

I am not running studio in Administrator mode. I’m not experiencing anything that prevents Studio from updating, but I am experiencing a variation of it and/or the 2nd issue described in this report.

I’m facing the same problem 2 days ago, and the worst thing is, it’s not just the studio, but the normal roblox is also all buggy, I can’t get into any experience, this also happens on Mac OS, Windows and Android

This has been happening weeks for me. None of my group games load.

I’d like to help resolve this but you must be able to reproduce without unsupported software (Mod Manager). Please use the officially supported, production Bootstrapper. If you are still experiencing these problems, provide the log files from that session.

Heya, here are logs from vanilla studio:
message.txt (22.5 KB)

Thanks! I’m sorry you’re having issues. I’ll get this to the devs.

Devs saw this in the log you provided:

UpdateManager::updatingEnabledForBuild - Unexpectedly missing bootstrapper in production/channel build. Did it get deleted?

There was also still mention of RobloxStudioModManagerStart in there so I’m guessing there’s some registry override or something happening. They recommend a full, clean re-install of Studio.

It’s a similar issue with a clean reboot. I’ll get back to ya shortly with updated logs from an associate.

Any Updates? I too have the same issue.

I wasn’t able to troubleshoot further due to unsupported third party software (ModManager) being used.

Are you on the latest version of Studio (with no mods) and still having problems? Can you share specifically what you’re seeing?
