Suggestion: Massless Tools

I would bet that 99% of the time, mass in tools is undesireable.
If you have high enough weight, it will affect the point of rotation for your character, it makes jumping harder etc.

I therefore want to suggest that no physics is calculated on tools that are inside Characters or an option to turn Tools mass off.

What do you guys think?

Support, I can’t tell you how many times large guns have caused my character to move and rotate weirdly because of the fact that they weighed so much. Tools shouldn’t have masses if they’re a child of a character or of a player

Well yeah, I kind of agree but can you not just lower the mass? It’s not really that difficult to, so I don’t see this as a big problem that requires a new option to turn it on/off.

Probably related? Roblox doesn’t override physics for containers, so it’s more logical if we could just use massless parts in Tools.

Wouldn’t setting the density of the part(s) in your tool much lower solve your use case?

That’s what I was thinking. Set the density super low. If I remember correctly, mass = density * volume
