Sunsetting the My Feed Tab

Not thrilled to see this change.

Even in it’s current crippled form, the My Feed tab was still useful for checking up on group shouts without having to individually check dozens of groups. It was also useful for seeing any you might have missed.

At the very least, will group shouts be added to the notification tab? That would definitely make me feel better about losing My Feed.

I don’t have very much faith in this.

You said something similar when the Roblox Forums closed:

This coming year, we’ll be investigating options to re-build forums that better serve you, our community, and our goals in providing a safe and constructive environment. As of today, the Forums will be read-only. Please save any content that you might want to keep as these public forums will be closed on Monday, December 11, 2017.

What happened to that?

Thank god they’re finally removing the My Feed page. It used to have a use way back in the day, but recently, people started to stop using it and so roblox later noticed it and made my feed completely useless now. They should’ve removed the textbox AND the page instead of just the text box, few months later, then remove the page. That’s my take on this.

Doesn’t matter if it is there or if it isn’t, half the player base and developers don’t even know it exists

Idk why it even exists in the first place when we got better communication methods like Discord and Guilded, where you don’t have the chat filter tagging every harmless word you try to say.

So does this mean that I will have to go through EACH group to find updates!?

Yes.

Because efficiency is dead.

Hope you don’t miss any shouts.

Disappointing. Wouldn’t have been an issue if the feed wasn’t moved from the home page to some random sidebar tab.

The link to My Feed has disappeared from the sidebar, but you can still access it

Welp, the Home tab is broken, possibly due to My Feed being part of the homepage

could reproduce this bug too, wierd

Yeah and to prevent spam in your notification box they can make it so that you can do a group shout once a week or something like that

I’m sorry but that’s really not a good idea.

Group shouts are one of the only way groups can send information to all of their members. You never know when something might come up that needs to be shouted.

I would say this change was worth it. As a developer, I haven’t found the “My Feed” tab as useful.

A lot is an understatement, it isn’t even a linear scaling problem: When you become a bigger platform the moderation problem gets exponentially worse, because now there’s a big enough audience that it becomes worth it for spammers and scammers from outside of the ecosystem to come and explicitly target it.

I agree with this change. Before statuses were removed from roblox, the last post I recieved in my feed page was 8 months ago. It’s good that this feature nobody cared about is gone

I am against removing the feed.

Roblox should have embraced social media instead of burying it on a page no one goes to.
I hope there are future plans to expand the social media aspect.

I’m not sure if you’d know this, but is the investigation to find ways to rebuild the forums cancelled or postponed? AFAIK nothing has been said about that since they announced it.

I guess this is fine, I rarely looked at the page. I hope that group shouts will send notifications though, I know they occur on pc but it would be useful if you could get them on mobile too. If an option to choose which groups you receive notifications from could added as well, that would be useful too.

The Feed was outdated, however a replacement will be needed.

Also another question, what’s the replacement for this?

I wont be that happy if it’s some sort of thing with Guilded, Discord is just better in every way.

And, I never had any issues with it updating. I wish I did, so I could see all of the old statuses, but is started updating again in late 2019 for me I think.

The ‘My Feed’ page has been missing from my account for about a month and a half or so. While I will miss it (out of pure nostalgia), it is time.

I do want to see group notifications moved to the notifications tab. I, alongside many other groups use this feature often and without access to it to notify our members, it’s fairly useless.

I doubt roblox will integrate guilded. When they acquired guilded, they said they would keep the platforms separate.

while this was inevitable, i absolutely hate the way it was done;
i liked being able to just have all group shouts and any friend updates on a single page, but the way it has been purely neglected just to eventually turn it obsolete is not cool at all
